Illinois LEO and Concealed Carry experiences

I know my Father CCW his entire life in Illinois and even asked to be arrested once for it in 1978. He wanted to fight the conviction and overturn the Law in Appeal. He was Hardcore and he hated the Ban on Concealed Carry so much, he was willing to be arrested and spend time in Jail. The SA would not prosecute. I have met many Policemen in Illinois, that have no problem with a person having their protection. The fact of the matter is this and I even challenged USACARRY Members and illinoiscarry.com to prove me wrong by showing a Case Name and Docket #. No person in Illinois has EVER been arrested and convicted of merely being in possession of a loaded firearm that had a valid FOID Card. I am not advocating that ANYONE violate any law, especially the Ban on Concealed Carry. I only make this statement because I know it is true and McLean County, SA Ron Dozier Knows it too!

I imagine they should pass a concealed carry law soon because look at it this way: All the gangsters in Chicago that go around carrying guns and killing people are in favor of concealed carry. They do it every day.

I grew up in Illinois and was not a shooter or hunter. It saddens me that those citizens ae the only ones who can't legrally protect themselves. These people include my mother & sisters., who will probably not carry themselves but who live an hour from Chicago. Its an area where the criminals go to get away from the city but live criminal lifestyles. I tell them to wreite their state reps all the time. But they just aren't as into it as I am.

What is a FOID card

This applies to residents only. Stands for Firearm Owners Identification Card. You have to have one to even be in possession of a gun. This includes buying ammunition. You can go across into Indiana and buy it if you lived close to the state line. I don't know what the penitently is for having ammo without a gun but being the communist state that it is I'm sure it isn't pretty. Many people in IL have had their guns seized for not having a FOID card. Recent memory was an old WWII vet who used his gun when someone broke into his house. He shot them and the crappy police took away his gun because of no FOID. I do travel to IL and I have many acquaintances there and their attitude is screw it. They carry concealed or keep it in their car.
