Illinois FOID card help.

I submitted a application to obtain a FOID card so I can legally purchase a gun for home defense and will be applying for concealed carry after I obtain my FOID card. (I guess your constitutional rights are non existent in Illinois relating firearms.) However my main concern and question about the FOID card is the citizen part of this application. I meet every requirement for a FOID card however I was born in Europe and have a green card came to the US legally back in the 90s because of genocide in my country of albania (currently going thru naturalization to be a u.s citizen) and when I got my green card back when I was a kid they had put the wrong birthdate on it. Iv never had issues with travel in and out of the u.s but am concerned they might deny my application because of it. The date provided on my Driver lisc is correct and they asked for that aswell. Does anyone have insight on this for me. I will be getting my u.s citizenship and passport in about 4 months but really don't want to wait that long to reapply because there are several police hirings opening up around me and I would like to apply but they require a FOID card on the application for the position and so I can start academy training. I came to this country at age 5 and am 22 now I have no arrests no felonies no mental issues or drug addictions. Should I contact Illinois state police who review and issue the card and let them know or do you think it wont matter.

Just wait and see what happens. In order to verify the validity of your Green Card, they have to contact USCIS anyway, where any inconsistencies should be resolved. If they deny your application, you can appeal it.
