McLean County States Attorney Ron Dozier and the Edwards County Staes Attorney have really made the Governor and A.G., MAD!!! They have said, that they will not prosecute anyone who is a FOID Card holder, that is Arrested merely for carrying a loaded Gun on their person! Check it out on gunssavelife.net :yes4:

Couldn't care less until they move out of the dark ages and finally join the other "50" states that allow carry. I only " " the 50 as we all know that about 5-10 may have a permit but good luck getting one.

Maybe there is hope. If law enforcement across the country would follow suit we could have a silent revolution and save this country.

You mean we finally have people in the state government that have finally grown a set and are finally standing up to the BIG IDIOTS!! Well how about that!! I was raised in IL and lived most of my life there and was simply fed up with the bureaucratic BS and the crooks that are in office. I don't know that IL will ever see a CCWP, but it needs to, even if it means leaving Chicago high and dry. Let them suffer with their own stupidity. I applaud these SA's for standing up, now if the rest of them in the state would follow suit, you might have a chance of getting the CCW passed. My dad still live there and is an FFL. He is just waiting for them to pass it. I'm glad I found this post it means there could be a glimmer oh light at the end of this very long tunnel. Have a great day.

scawthonjr. The issue, as I am sure you already know, goes much deeper than the Socialist Pig's in Chicago and Springfield. It is the Residents, that are truly at fault. In 1961-62, there should have been mass demonstrations in Springfield, the place should have been occupied by 250,000 Gun-Owners, raising hell and and DEMANDING their Second Amendment Rights Restored. But, that was not something that people in Illinois do, or do today either. IGOLD, is not able to muster more than 5,000 people to show up for a single day event. If you ever visit the illinoiscarry.com website, you will find the posters to be rather unfriendly and cynical. They are so afraid to post something that may be read by an Anti-Gunner and used against them, that they dare not even have open discussion of the matter. Once oppression has taken a foothold, Freedoms disappear and so do the people who will not tollerate oppression. I do not fault you for escaping Illinois, I wish I had, 25 years ago... Wisconsin is the Land of Freedom for me to escape to on weekends and soon, I will move there to escape Illinois Permanetly!

Yes Dan, I am aware the the citizens are largely at fault. I just hope that they will follow suit and start standing up for there rights. It takes a lot of gumption to stand up for yourself, but it's much easier when there is a large group. As we all now, there is strength in numbers. I feel that the biggest problem in the past has been the lack of knowledge among the people. It takes people like Dr. Dan Mefford of Pittsfield, IL to stand up and get things like this rolling. He is a well respected Chiropractor and family man in Pike County. Near as can tell, he has raised the biggest stink over the gun rights of IL citizens i have ever seen. I guess I might be a little biased, since he is my Uncle, and I am only 38, so I haven't heard of anything from before. I am here to tell you, he isn't tolerating this crap. The last time he and I talked about the FOID cards, I thought he was gonna flip. Boy did he ever go off (LOL). I agree with him on that too, we should not have to register ourselves just to be able to own a gun. We have to go through all that crap anyway just to buy them. Fortunately, I moved back to Arkansas about 2 1/2 years ago, and in July I applied for my CCW. I found out last Friday that I was approved. However, I do not believe we should have to go through that crap either. Thing only thing I can say about that is, at least I am abiding by the law. I guess that's enough from me for now. Dan, have a great day, God Bless, and keep up the fight.
