If you own a gun you may have to have extra insurance

Wasn't anything learned from Obamacare? The SCOTUS ruled the government may not force a person to purchase insurance.

I carry an umbrella liability policy. It is surprisingly cheap. My entire insurance bill actually went down when I tied my car and home policies together and added the umbrella policy and I ended up with greater coverage across the board.

The umbrella policy covers accidents. It does not cover intentional harm. It is not self defense legal coverage.

I did not have to provide any info on any of my firearms.

I have State Farm insurance.

The umbrella isn't just for firearms. It covers me for general liability above and beyond auto and home.

In fact the companies offering homeowner and umbrella policies have an abysmal track record covering gun related incidents. Hell, they have an abysmal record on everything. Insurance companies contract law firms to handle lawsuits. One has no idea who the attorney will be. Just as there are bad barbers, carpenters, engineers and doctors, there are bad lawyers. I would rather pick my own attorney; one with a background as a prosecutor who has handled gun cases.

From "Lethal Weapon 4" -- "You have the right to an attorney. If you cannot afford an attorney we will provide you the dumbest fu---ng lawyer on earth." Believe it.
