like almost all cops do, with a rd chambered, and i can do the same in 1.5 seconds, starting chamber empty, who is taking silly chances, you or me? :-)

I'm not taking silly chances. But I have been know to contribute to silly threads, like this one. Aww, crap.... I'm going to have to stop feeding the trolls now because I can no longer buy my troll food at the commissary since it is closed because Congress can't pull their collective head out of their collective ass. Until Congress pulls their head out....

Do you also have a double or triple retention holster like most police are required to use while in uniform? I'm much faster from my civilian holster than my LE holster due to this policy.

And tangerines taste better than peaches <--- just as weird of a post.

ok, for those who don't have enough background. I see other posts commenting upon it being "silly" to be chamber empty. Because it's "so slow". I point out that I am faster to the hit even if I am carrying chamber empty. So the THE ISSUE IS HOW FAST YOU ARE (or are not) to the hit. If you aint really fast, then your commentary about the chamber empty carry mode is just talk. Since it's rare to have to fire, much less hit, the condition of the chamber doesn't mean all that much. Leave the punk an escape route and get the gun pointed at him early enough, and the odds are quite high that you won't even have to fire. Be too slow to get the gun out and pointed at the guy, and/or corner him, and you'll probably lose out, in one way or another, regardless of whether or not you keep a round chambered.

I think that pretty much says it all....

Well whatever he can do with his unchambered chambered firearm ...I can do better...1.5 second rofl I can do that in 0.0025 seconds, finish the drill under 5 seconds. This is scoring 2 hits each on 6 different targets in 6 different directions.

I would like to propose an exercise of you drawing an unchambered firearm while I spray you with sim rounds...or even just paintball...and have you successfully draw and chamber a round in 1.5sec or whatever your High Speedness claims. Making the scenario a bit more real than just firing at paper targets. Nothing like trying to defend your life/mechanically square away your unchambered firearm under extreme duress. Thats real life High Speed.

So if I were a gamblin' man I could potentally carry without any bullets at all. That would save a lot of weight and the odds are already in my favor. Win Win situation.

I'll keep one in the chamber anyway.

Your obviously not considering many real life scenarios. Criminals and punks don't always just walk up to you, letting you know your about to be a victim.

And, in addition to that, not every gun loads fully and properly 100% of the time. If the gun malfunctions during loading I would rather have that malfunction occur in the relative safety behind my locked front door rather than in the immediate presence of a criminal I am defending myself against. Loading a gun should be a controlled and double checked process - not a fraction of a second maneuver, IMHO.

In reality, though... I think that anyone who relies upon the "element of surprise" should carry a firearm without a round chambered. Doesn't carrying an unloaded gun greatly enhance the "element of surprise?" I mean if the criminal is going to be surprised by you retrieving your gun from concealment, wouldn't they be that much more surprised if you also had to take time to load it? Also, to enhance "element of surprise" effect I also recommend carrying a pink polymer gun. What bad guy is going to take a pink gun seriously until it is too late?
