If the worst happens

Do you really still want to be around?

If the world becomes something similar to "The Book of Eli" or "Mad Max" do you really want to be part of it?

Personally I am torn on whether I would attempt to catch the Nuclear bomb rather than live in the fall out, or hope to meet the Asteroid/Comet where it lands rather than live in a world without Sun thus no food and whatever comes with it.

Dont you think it is human nature to want to live and survive regardless of the conditions? It is built in to our DNA to want to live. I would have to say I would do what I could to the bitter end, especially if meant giving my family a better chance at living or surviving what ever circumstances we were encountering at the time.

You really think you are going to have the wherewithal to know where ground zero of a nuclear attack will be and will be able to make sure your suicidal butt can be there when it happens? That's the point of being prepared. There will be many survivors to a shtf situation. The question you really should be asking is, if there will be a shtf situation and you become a survivor do you have the grit and determination to become prepared beforehand in order to take care of yourself and your family OR are you so selfish that instead of learning how to take care of them and become prepared you find yourself in such a situation with your thumb up your butt asking "what am I going to do now and who will take care of me??"?

For thousands of years humans have lived off the toil of their backs. It has only been in recent times that sheeple have become so entitled that they think all their needs should be readily available. A shtf situation separates the sheeple from those that don't mind a little hard work.

Me personally, I enjoy life. I enjoy the creation that God has provided for us and realize a simple life is a pleasant life. Earth gives us all that we NEED to live, but we may have to work it. This takes planning, preparation, and hard work. One may want more, but this earth can sustain us if we know what to do with it. Now in a shtf situation, you may not be able to work the Earth. Therefore, your food, security and shelter needs must be up to par to live for whatever amount of time you think the proverbial poop will spray all over you when it hits that fan.

People don't plan to fail, they fail to plan. ~ Ben Franklin.

Those that have it in their DNA to survive will survive. Most of those that don't won't. The few weak that do survive, mess up the gene pool.

Perhaps I picked the wrong section to post this in. I am not talking a minor inconvenience type event, I mean something big scorched Earth you have to fight kill for drinkable water type event. You're fighting for anything and everything you need to survive to the point friends and neighbors are now enemies.

Mehhh nevermind, I still think Im in the wrong section for a hypothetical you guys are pretty serious in here apparently.

If you have to beg, borrow, and steal to get what you need, you didn't prep well enough did you?

It is those that are NOT prepared that will be fighting and killing for water... this is why you owe it to yourself and your loved ones to have them avoid those selfish people who WILL kill for a glass of water.

If I "buy it", I "buy it"... if I don't, I'm not going to kill myself. So, being as that I would plan to live I need to be prepared to as best I can. It isn't so much that I would "want" to live in a "Book if Eli" time... but if I'm alive and kickin', I need to make the best of it.

I think it would be awesome..... But on one condition!

I need to have portable music, you know iPod, MP3 player, portable CD player or something!!

The Apocalypse ain't worth going through if it don't have a sound track!!

Metallica, Disturbed, Rob Zombie, Powerman 5000, Rage Against The Machine, Godsmack... what else shall we rock to?
