The 356 only has 1/4-1/5th of the 12 ga's power, yet the 357 125 gr jhp is well known to do a fine job, IF you get a solid chest hit, not just a "torso" hit. half of the torso is the gut, you know. there is no reason to believe that a gut hit amounts to a damn.

I don't favor the 357, cause the repeat hits are 2x too slow with it, but it does point out that you don't need to hit a man with as much power as the ignorant seem to "think' is required. in fact, about 95% of the time, you won't have to hit him at all, if you get your gun pointed at him in time, and leave him an escape route. that % is born out by the NRA's Armed Citizen column, the Dept of Justice Annual Crime Survey, and the FBI'S UCR, uniform crime report.

The difference between theory and practice is that in theory, it doesn't matter, in practice, it does. titon, you don't have a clue of what you are talking about. Spend some time listening to folks who actually do know something about the subject.
