Ugh...been carrying everywhere I go. And that includes the dojo. Never had somebody notice that I was carrying until yesterday. I was changing out of my gi when my wallet fell out of my duffel bag, its a flip wallet with an ID pocket up front, showing my CCL. Black belt #1 saw it. I forgot my wedding band on the shelf in the back, went back to get it and he's there complaining that I have a gun and I'm going to scare off the new guys. No we have a gunbuster sign.

I think mr black belt should row his ass back to Vietnam since our freedom isn't good enough. Seems like he forgot what he escaped in 1994...my Karate can't dodge bullets...just sayin.

1. You don't need to pay any attention to the "Gun Buster" Sign...
2. Leave it in your Car..
3. Put you CCL behind your Driver's License
4. Find another Dojo.

good luck,

Stay Safe!

I'm curious as to why the CCL is so prevalent in the wallet that accidentally opening it shows it for all to see. Doesn't concealed mean concealed? Shouldn't that go for the license as much as the gun?

Boy, you're having a bad time of it lately. You're getting busted here for not concealing everything that should be concealed. Are you sure it was your CCL the black belt saw and not your gun? In your other post; Cop almost lost his gun at wally world; you're being called an idiot for your actions. Bad time at it I tell ya....Sucks to be you.

I'd say find a new dojo, but really depends on how you like the instructors and the style. Not so easy to find one that you are otherwise happy with. If you live in the sticks like I do, there isn't that much choice in the first place.

I can't really relate other than that, because my taekwando instructor was a LEO, and my isshen-ryu instructor was a huge gun enthusiast. Both enjoyed showing off their new toys.

Though I liked each enough that I probably would have left it in the car out of respect for their knowledge and instruction, if asked. I'm sure I'll be beat up for that comment, but so be it.

If the black belt of which you speak isn't the owner/head instructor, maybe you should have a conversation with the person actually in charge.

As far as getting beat up for the visible CCL, I'm sure I know the wallet of which you speak, we all put our military ID in the pocket. That is probably exactly where I would carry my CCL if I still carried that type of wallet.

My ccl is in front because cops are trigger happy. It will be in my hand if I raise them.

As for finding a new dojo. No. I would have to start over.

My gun was in my jacket pocket, hanging in my locker which I unlocked after class.

Capt k...lol the thin blue line can also be used to hurl insults.

The place I go to would evaluate you and let you wear a belt commiserate with your skill. Unless you were a relatively low belt anyway.
You might find that other places are like that too.

Personally I think people put too much emphasis on them.

Wow. It must really suck to live in fear of getting shot by police. Why wouldn't they just shoot you during the action of you reaching for your wallet?

Maybe you should wear your CCL in a clear plastic holder around your neck, like a "good guy" badge?

Im a cop and not trigger happy. Nice judgement douche

You know I like this forum a lot but the bitching back and forth gets old real damn quick. We (CC'ers) have got enough to worry about without dividing our forces. Cut that damn tree down and use the wood to make a bridge AND GET OVER IT! We need to stick together especially now. And what's wrong with being a Cop? I'm not and never have been but they are just like you and I, as there are Idiots in every field. For proof just look at our Presidency! Sure there are Power happy cops, but most of the one's I've known and rode with (Motorcycles) I'd trust my life with and they've got my total respect and admiration for sure. Most of the insults on here are not from just differing opinions. I see a lot of them by people jumping into posts with nothing to add but the insult. If I want to listen to a bunch of people wining and giving insults I'll go to a Family Reunion! Now quit bitching at each other and just flame me instead. Later & Peace

There could be great dialogue in a lot of these posts but when one can't muster forth one rational thought when confronted with criticism it kinda goes out the window.

Calling me names because I didn't help a cop who obviously doesn't care about his or the public's safety is rational thought? Or did you think it was constructive criticism? Quit whining.

I am not a LEO any more as I retired in 1994 (boy that's a long time ago) I can only say that unless you have been there and worn a badge for as long as I have then you have no right to judge me or anyone else in law enforcement. Hell, I have now forgot what this thread was about.

Now I remember. I also have a black belt and a brown belt and other color belt's hanging in my closet. None of them will stop a bullett.
