I posted a question on a Garden web site that I go to often. The question was, how many of you ccw? I expected to get blasted on the question with no one who carries responding. Quite of people on the garden site are of a liberal mind set. What I got however was very different from my expetations. I think that 6 people responded all saying that they do carry and several said their spouses carried as well. I did not get one negitive response to the question as I had expected. I think that asking this type of question on that type forum says alot about where we seem to be going as a country. What are your thoughts?

Actually the fact that I had any responce indicating that they carry, says otherwise. Until the question was asked they were like most people that I know that carry, No one ever knows that they do because they don't broadcast it.

i agree. In Minnesota it is open carry and I still conceal. It isn't anyone's business, except a BG, then the business starts!

There may come a day that we will need to protect the fruits of our labors. Plus Think about Farmers, Most do hunt to feed thier families so it only goes that they would also carry to protect said family.

WA is an oc state and I oc (and guess what, I have not been shot first, kids and mothers do not scream and run away, I do not get hassled by police). I also conceal and have many friends who conceal. My friends and I all try to defend the 2a to the full extent without bashing or trying to control who carriers the "appropriate, reasonable, acceptable" and "safe" way that we deem is right.

It is nice seeing society turn more gun friendly. Every since I started open carrying I get to see it so much more often when I get to have great conversations with other gun owners around my town.

I get so tired of the old ... "Open carriers will get shot first!!!" crap....

Ok... open carry has been happening in Arizona for decades. DECADES!!! representing thousands of hours of folks open carrying in just that one State. So it should be very easy for you to back up your claim that open carriers will be shot first with a few hundred (not statistical anomalies of one or two but HUNDREDS) cites and/or links to actual incidents where that really happened.

And it should be very simple to find those incidents because IF they ever happened the media would be all over it like stink on... dung. In fact, IF they ever happened the Brady Campaign and every other anti gun organization would be shouting about it from the rooftops!

But I don't hear anything from the rooftops about actual for real "open carriers shot first" incidents... what I hear is unsubstantiated fear mongering from the gun community itself. So sad!!!

And as for any actual factual incidents from the anti gunners, the media, and from gun owners/concealed carriers who tout the scary myth that open carriers will be "shot first".... all is hear is.... crickets.

So.. I challenge you Sir! Yes, an outright challenge. Stand behind your statement and........

PROVE IT!
