I may regret this...but...

I've decided to clear my ignore list. I realized that even if the offenders' posts are hidden from my view...they can still read and comment on MY posts. What a crummy feature! Would be nice if the coders could look into fixing that.

I find it rewarding, in a strange way, to know why this country is on the way to third worldism and total mediocrity. I see some of the threads and replies and realize that besides not knowing how to spell or how to even compose an intelligent, english-worthy comment, some cannot even express themselves in any form of relevant terms. Wise guys, who have nothing better to do than play with their ying yang while pushing letters on their computer in total anonymity, Dirty Harrys who want to shoot anything that moves, complete miscreants---they populate this forum and our everyday lives. It would be nice if we could have an "ignore list" in our everyday lives that would allow these people to disturb each other while the rest of us go about our normal everyday lives. Somewhat pretentious comments but I think you get the point.

I have never found any reason to place anyone in my ignore list other than in my mind. I agree totally that there are many posters that make no sense in their postings but I can just choose not to read them or if I do just ignore them. I do not understand why some people cannot seem to ignore certain posts that are totally out of line and just intended to generate a response. Just do not respond to them as that is what they want. Just remember that if you place them on your ignore list it only keeps you from seeing it as it does nothing to stop them from posting. If more people would just remember DNFTT (Do not feed the trolls) it would cut down on a lot of it.

Yes, that's what I eventually realized; it's not like Facebook where if one person ignores another, neither can see the other.

DNFTT - good advice!

I have 8 on my ignore list. 3 are aforementioned know-it-alls and the other 5 are just flat-out flaming trolls. They will stay there.

All I can say is, if you're going to be an internet Rambo know-it-all jerkwagon, and you can't friggin spell or know the difference between lose and loose; borders and boarders; or their, they're, and there; I'm not going to take you seriously.

I think that will be my New Years resolution...Don't be a looser, deserving of someones ignore list. And don't let anyone piss me off enough to be put on my ignore list...That is what their objective probably was in the first place...to get under your skin. If I have offended anyone over this past year...My apologies.

Hey titaniumman: To add to your new years list. Hoping all we do is mostly reply with meanningful dialog and learn from each other and NEVER have to use any of the advice offerred and, for that matter, that piece of metal attached to our waist. Peace my friends and Merry Christmas and a Happy, Healthy and Safe New Year

Hey, didn't you read Localgirl's post just before yours? It's loser, not looser, you loser.

I have yet to use the ignore feature. I have to admit I've considered it a time or two, though. But then I also reflect on the fact that having been an active member of this forum has caused me many times to re-examine my viewpoint on many things. In most cases I now know better why I believe in the things I do, or at least can explain better why I believe what I believe. And that comes in really handy at Christmas parties with socialist relatives! But there have been a couple of times I've had to back off and change direction because of some aspect I hadn't considered, that one of you were thoughtful enough to point out. So to all of you, thank you.

This forum exists for the 1st Amendment just as well as the 2nd. So i pledge to never, no matter how trying it may be, use the ignore feature. And to any who have me on their lists...you can't see this anyway!

Why, kelcarry! I believe the Grinch's small heart just grew three sizes today!

well here is my 2 cents.

I would not put anyone on the ignore list for the following reasons:

1.- The feature does not work well here.
2.- That is letting the bad guys know they can push your button.
3.- This is just a forum, people can say all they want about someone, true or not.
4.- I know what I know, I know my capabilities and weakness are many. (spelling is one...Dyslexia is another, and I'm a sucker for a cuite girl :P).

5.- So in short. Do not let them see your sweat, that is a good indication to other that you know your stuff and you are mature enough to take some low blows and then defend yout ground and ideas.

6.- Think about it like a debate...Just do not do a Rick Perry or Herman Cain...! That will not get you my vote.

anyway that is my 2 cents ++.

Locagirl....can you check my spelling please.. thank you ya'll...!
:) just kidding.
