I Love Police; I Respect Police...Don't Talk to Them...

Very informative video. And all the more reason to say something like "I will give you my statement after I meet with my council!"

The following video of George Bruch is also good. I have seen the George Bruch video before but not Mr. Duane. Pretty much the same coming from both sides. It's a good thing to keep in mind, whether you are guilty or not.

Thanks ... a most informative, and entertaining 1/2 hour...

EVERYONE should watch this. EVERYONE should heed this.

A very close friend of mine, now past on, who was a long time Sheriff's Deputy told me the same thing.... NEVER, EVER make 'statements' to the police about anything... (even as a possible witness to any event) ...without a lawyer present.... a VERY GOOD LAWYER at that!

That was an impressive video. To take off of what Navy said, you can be innocent, telling the truth, and they can still convict you for something.

One thing to remember:

Just because you have nothing to hide does not mean that they won't find something.
Navy, I taught a class last week where I had a new instructor assisting. He's a retired LE trainer. A student asked if they should notify the police when stopped while carrying. He replied that it's the first thing they should do. I advised the student that there is no statutory requirement to say anything and it would be much smarter to keep quiet about the gun unless asked. He wasn't happy. i advised him to never do that again in my classroom.

Well, since you opened the door....I was going to post this, but then decided to not bring up the notify/not notify question into the topic:

It never ceases to amaze me how many people will stand on their soapbox and exclaim, "Concealed means concealed! Nobody should know about your gun but you! Keep it hidden! No need to show! Element of surprise!" And some of those same people will whip out their license/permit and tell exactly where their gun is to a complete stranger upon first contact with them for no other reason than that complete stranger is wearing a badge and uniform (when not required to by law) and advise others to do the same. I don't understand the double standard. But that's just me.

Glad you said something to your class, BC1!

Outstanding! I'm glad you said something too!

wow, great video! I also respect the Police and am glad they are here for us.... I also respect you and thank you for posting this video. It really opened my eyes for what to do if I find myself in any future situations where I might just need to keep my mouth shut. I am going to take your advice and heed this information if it ever comes down to it.
