I just do not get it!

What is the Madness of the NCAA play off. I see so much excitement over this really unimportant event. What am I missing?

Sports fanatics, I.e. my wife being excited about UK Playing. People rooting for their teams. I see it as a good excuse for barbecues and friends. I don't buy into all the "hype" but, I like watching my team play.

You must not be a college basketball fan. Even the casual observers tend to get into the excitement of Cinderella stories and upsets. The one and done style makes everything that much more intense. The dramatic last second shots. The real way to get a national champion unlike football.

I hear ya buddy. Way too much emphasis is placed on sports in this country. I was soured on this years ago. I enjoy watching sports too.....sometimes. Actually very seldom. I cannot see the point of all the fanatical energy wasted. I pose this question about it all...."what difference is team A winning going to make in your life?" I also detest the fact that our education system....both public and private.....has placed academics second to athletics. I fully understand the importance of the physical side, and the lessons learned of teamwork. How ever.........how many professional sports do you see in Japan? Probably one of the strongest educated people in the world. Ok, enough soap box....... Just my opinion as an average working white boy!

I guess I am not a big sports fan. I am a little old now, but I always like playing more than watching. That`s how I feel about sex to.
I do not care if people enjoy the game, I just could not get that excited over it. It did irrigate me that "Big Bang Theory" was preempted by the game.

That's funny because I couldn't care less about network tv shows. What enjoyment do you get from watching over paid liberals act?? Make believe from a society of people that live in the fantasy world. No thanks. Would rather watch just about ANY level of people competing in sport than some Hollywood rich person act. Especially when it comes to the thrill these kids display during this tournament.

Actually, have you ever been to Japan?? Do you have any idea how fanatical they are about their baseball??? More so than us. Hell, they are fanatical about badminton and ping pong!! ever see how crazy they are about golf?? Again, more so than us. Yeah, not so much football and basketball because how many Asians excel in those sports?? Soccer? Again just as much if not more than us. A case of where perception isn't reality.

Wate of time?? No, sports are about as real as it gets, especially collegiate sports. Whatever their choice, 99.9% play the sport out of love and passion for the game.
