I finally did it! I bought my first handgun today. Glock 30 .45cal. I pick it up wed after 9am. WooHoo!!! Also picked up a box of 200 rounds of .45cal. Can't wait to go bang bang soon!

Good for you and hope you enjoy. I never really liked a Glock until about 2 years ago, just didn't think they looked cool enough I guess. I have bought three in the past 6 months, G17, G21 and a G26. All perform beyond expectations, you won't be disappointed. Happy Shooting.

Congrats! I would highly suggest that you TRAIN, TRAIN, and TRAIN. Then when you really feel comfortable with this platform. Train some more. (Second nature is the key, anything else is jeopardy)

Thanks guys! Will definately keep training. Picked up my new Glock today. Cleaned it and hopefully will go shooting sunday or monday. I can't wait! :)

Nothing easier than a Glock to field strip and clean. Not many Glocks left in the stores these days in my area, my LGS tells me it will be the end of March before they see any shipments from Glock. I would be interested in reading your thoughts on the G30 when you get some rounds through it. Have fun.

Glocks although having safety features have no "manual safety" that you have to flip to fire. Don't let that lack of manual safety scare you, they don't just "go off" Use proper trigger/finger control, and only put that finger on the trigger when you're punching holes in paper or you're forced to inflict deadly force to protect yourself or your family.

Even if you've got years of military service or have fired many rounds, I'd always suggest a firearm safety course, more advanced courses, and practice regularly. It's one thing to punch holes in paper, don't neglect training while moving also from odd angles with both hands.... Never know if you'll be able to use your dominant hand if you're in a life or death situation.... practice with your weak hand often.

I can't find magazines anywhere. Local stores and online are out. I'm hoping to go shooting sun or mon. Last night it took me longer to get the gun apart to clean it then it did to put it all back together.

That's one reason why I bought the Glock...no manual safety. Easy to break down to clean. Durability,etc...

Yeah, they are pretty reliable for sure. Luckily you've got a .45 and not a 9 or you'd have to worry about limp wristing or odd angle shooting. The 9mm Glocks have a problem with feeding//ejecting if you don't have a very firm grip on them so if a woman if new to shooting or a child who's new is timid or has an odd hold, it will be a failure. There's plenty of video's about the 17's failing because of limp wristing.

Look for some youtube videos about breaking a glock down as it's super easy if done properly. Also check out Underwood Ammo website (link below) for some very hot ammo. Also, if you ever get a chance to fire a 20 or a 29 with some hot ammo... fire it. The 10mm is a wrist breaker... I love it.

What he said!...

BTW G21 mags work in the G30

Finally got to the range today. Put 200 rounds thru the new G30! No problems at all. Got a compliment from a range employee on my shooting. If I ever get the picture off of my cellphone I'll post it.

Awesome! I just my G30 a few days ago also. I also have the G19 and a G22 and a few 1911's but I love this G30. Excellent carry weapon...

Only Glock we are having troubles getting is the 19. 17 Gen 4 (2), 21, 23, 27, 30 all have come in in the past two months.
