Vets, Bring it in, take a knee! This was brought to us by fan that didn't give me permission to post his name as of yet. Be advised, shock of all shocks, the VA is attempting to screw you out of the money you deserve by manipulating you into waving portions, if not all, of your back pay! Do not fall for this!

To ALL VETS

I am a Navy Vet 1981 - 1985. I am currently trying to get a disability claim from my time in service.

TODAY I discovered a new tactic that the VA is using when making a decision on a claim. I have talked to a few vets and they also received a call from the VA asking for certain things like I did this morning. Then they add you can waive these items if we wish and it will speed up the claim process and not delay any longer.
However and this is what is IMPORTANT in waiving something, we might be waiving our back pay they would owe us. So having talked with the DAV today they are telling us to waive nothing and let the claim continue to take it's course. This is just a way the VA has found to save money owed to us.
Please pass this along to all your friends who may be in the claim process. Remember waive nothing it might screw you.

Thank you for that I also have put in a claim for my twenty-eight years I put in, I just did it about a few months ago so I will be looking for it.

I have the 29 years beat, I was injured in 1968 and discovered my problems were caused by the damage done then, this was in 2001. Of course the VA denied my claim the first time but after an appeal and their doctor doing his thing I got my rating. Never give up and most of all don't waiver anything.

Being recently retired from the VA, I have to wonder how many of these "new tactics", or tricks are actually being invoked, or just internet hearsay. I'm 66 years old, I've been service-connected for the last 10 years, and I've never been asked to waive anything. I am aware, however, of a few Veterans who filed false claims and got caught, and are doing whatever they can to "blame" the VA for their shortcomings. I've also seen the folks who hang around medical centers waiting for Veterans, and offer to guarantee 100% service-connection for a small fee....

I'm not in any way saying the VA is perfect, but ALL of the facts rarely come out in sensational headlines. Do your homework.
