I have carried every day now for over 2 years, but today, I volunteered at my daughter's head start class and didn't carry. Felt kinda weird. I kept checking my pockets for my keys and wallet, which I never normally do. Maybe it was the fact that I was wearing wind pants and a t shirt instead of the usual jeans and hoodie, or maybe it was the missing weight on my hip. Anybody else ever have that happen?

It's legal and there's no posting (legally sized anyway)so maybe next time I will tuck the pocket rocket in the belly band just to avoid the heebie jeebies or better yet, not having a gun when I need one.

Not felt not wearing it but today I've forced myself to carry an XD instead of the Glock and just the weight and tiny shape difference is driving me crazy. If I took it off all together, it would probably be a feeling not unlike being naked.

I'm with you. When I'm somewhere I can't carry, I feel like somethings missing the entire time.

I'll be honest... I'm still getting used to carrying. I've only had my LTCH since the beginning of January. I was wondering if the feeling would ever change to the point where I would feel weird without it. I guess this answers my question.

I have been carrying since 2011 & now feel like it's similar to forgetting my cell phone or wallet at home if I don't have a side arm of some kind within arms reach at all times. Some call it paranoia.
I say it is being responsible for yourself. This Government is turning responsible people into "criminals".
Very Un-American of them.

I drive older cars for commuting (190 miles a day) and to me it's the same feeling as not having tools with me. And in a way I guess that's appropriate. Missing an important tool when you leave your sidearm home...

Haha love that last line!

Ummmm...If I forget a can or bottle of Pepsi, I feel just as weird. I might be the first non chubber to get type 2 diabetes.

Got my CCL the day i turned 21 and carried for a few months before i got shipped off to the worst state for firearms in the Union. i still carry when i go home to Alabama but its like returning a weight that is supposed to be there, the only thing i notice is that comforting weight. i've gotten so used to doing without now i hardly notice being unarmed; sad aint it?

I say you move back from MA, those broads is too classy for you anyways with that sexy accent. Lmao

Its just like leaving my wallet or my cell phone at home. I know when it is not there and always feel I will need it and not have it.

I tend to walk to the left whenever I can't carry, which is rare. I'm so used to having a two pound brick (XDm) on my right hip I naturally lean to the left. It's a worse story when I have a duty belt on, as I have a lot more weight on my right side than my left side.

When I go somewhere where the hardware needs to be locked in the vehicle, I always feel self-conscious. The light weight of the empty holster does not feel right. Noticing that difference makes me feel self-conscious and thus more vulnerable. This is why I've always been a proponent on how to defend you and yours with alternative means.

I know your pain tricolordad, but I certainly would not try to conceal a handgun in a school in the atmosphere of our culture today. I don't even want to imagine what you would go through if someone realized you had one (imagine panic in a mob style scenario). Teachers, principals, and students are on edge.

Whenever I don't ''feel like carrying'' a sidearm, I just put my little Ruger LCP inside my pocket.....Problem solved.

Empty holster feels odd when driving the school bus, always glad to get back to the bus barn and retrieve "Bubba".
