I am a Hunter

I am a hunter. I have always hunted in the woods and always my favorite dog, or dogs, joyously accompanied me. I have hunted with pike, bows and a variety of weapons, and I have hunted a variety of prey.

I have also been hunted in foreign places and I have felt hunted in what used to be my home.

I learned from my life that it is better to be the hunter than the hunted . The difference in the two states of being is the attitude, values and assumptions of the man who would be a hunter.

I am a hunter and I will always be a hunter. I am also a survivalist with responsibility to my family and like minded comrades.

Hunters must become survivalists.

I would suggest that a hunter is already a survivalist even if he/she doesn't realize it. Hunters, after all, are willing and intend on, killing a warm-blooded, self-aware creature to eat. That in itself is an act for survival. Anything else is a short step further, compared to a non-hunter trying to figure out how to eat or feed a family in a crisis situation.
