A woman was attacked by a sex offender armed with a knife at 4AM; she was injured in the attack when she confronted him, apparently unarmed. The attacker escaped when another resident responded to the attack, yelling at the attacker.
They called 911.
Police responded (there is an average 18 min. response time in Grand Rapids, MI to 911 calls), looked for the attacker, and couldn't find him.
CSI was called in, they lifted a fingerprint, identified it, and finally found/arrested the attacker.
The attack occurred Friday. The attacker was arrested Monday. He is a repeat offender.
He could have been a deceased offender.
