How many shots = loose

I am surprised how much I like target shooting the little 642 Airweight with non -+P; it started out as an unpleasant task and turned into some fun and challenge.

Question is, how much shooting is TOO much shooting with this handgun? What does it take to make this pistol really loose? Anyone ever take an Airweight revolver from new to "kind of used up" with overshooting?

That pistol will stil function when you are in your grave a hundred years

I understand the pistol has a long service life; my question was asking if anyone ever managed to shoot an Airweight really loose - loose enough to affect accuracy. If so, how many rounds?

I don't think that you can shoot enough rounds fast enough to build up enough heat for it to do it. There aren't any moving parts to wear out to effect accuracy, so the only think that could happen is over heating the barrel from a whole lot of rounds shot so fast that would over heat the barrel. Something that you see from 100 round full auto mags. I don't see it happening on a revolver.

I have put many, many rounds through S@W and Ruger snubs, and my hand is wearing out far faster than any of the revolvers.
