How many of you are lucky enough to carry at work?

I did a quick search, did not find the answer. Just curious. Barring LEO's and professions where guns are part of your work equipment, how many of you are allowed by your employer to carry at work? More specifically, while on the clock? I will start. Unfortunately, my employer does not allow it. And I will not take the risk of losing my job in order to CC at work. But I sure wish it was allowed, if for any reason including, "because I can". So are you one of the lucky ones?

Edit: I posted in the CC forum, but the question is open to anybody whether CC or OC. Just would be nice to carry at work period.

Nope! Federally controlled no weapons of any sort! Exception of a folding blade no longer than 3 inch blade.

I live in Iowa and I am self-employed and I have an employee, both of us have CC permits. We do not carry at work, we are in a repair service and enter many of our customers homes and many businesses. Our CC Permits are listed in a local paper as they are approved by the local Sheriff. I've a customer that seen in the paper that my employee had a CC permit and she more or less had a fit and refuses to let my employee in her house to do work. She thinks it is terrible that some one would want to care a Concealed Weapon. When we are home or out and about (off the clock) we both CC carry, I have open carried in a restaurant and shocked the person setting in the next booth. I just ignore the the looks and sounds I hear.

I don't yet have my CC permit, so I don't carry concealed while working (or any time). But I always have a firearm in my service truck, in some neighborhoods I even open carry while working. But that is a perk of being self employed I guess. I worked in a machine shop for 10 years and the owners were avid hunters and outdoors men, they had no problem with us carrying at work. Most of the guys had some kind of firearm in their toolbox, and on our breaks and lunch hour we gathered at a small shooting range we all chipped in to build behind the factory. The owners and supervisors frequently joined us and sometimes even held shooting competitions and gave away prizes.

I do now - as a firearms instructor. :)

But before, as a travel consultant, not so much. I did for a while, in my briefcase, or sometimes would secure it in my vehicle. (Granted it's not the best strategy to leave your firearm in your vehicle, secured or not...but sometimes we must compromise.)

I keep one in my car, but I am not allowed to take one into the hospitals. I really wish I could sometimes. Many nights I have to walk 2 or 3 blocks to my car at 1 or 2 in the morning. They tried to pass a law that forbid employers to not allow employees to carry guns to work, but it didn't pass.

I just found out that NC allows carry at work. No special permission from employer is required as with SC. Although the employer may in writing prohibit CC at work. Haven't found job as yet BUT like the new laws here (sorta).

My employee hand book says no weapons on premises. I'm a field service tech, so most of my day is spent off premises. My boss knows I carry, & he knows I carry on premises, he said as long as it stays between me & him, he is ok with it, but the rest of the work place better not find out.

Informed my employer. All he said was "well that's scary". Then called me in for an interview and i got the job.

yes i can.i am a service electrician and end up in some bad locations or out all hours of night.owner carries his due to working late night at office(he had a experience in which he came out back door and someone was crouched down behind steps,a firm "are you kidding me,get the hell outta here"worked in that case.and several contractors we deal with carry and all share the attitude that why in world wouldnt you carry.even my mother shares that opinion.

I carry every day at work. LCP, LCR, or PF9 depending on my choice of clothes that day.....and if I'm in a 9mm mood, a .357 mag mood, or perhaps a .380

I carry to work everyday. Even though I work at a family owned business I work in the oilfield and cannot carry to certain companies locations. Therefore I leave my pistol at the office locked up in my brothers vehicle ( he is a chl holder also)
