Houston thug takes one in the chest

I am friggin sick of the racial BS and bias when it comes to black punks getting shot by someone other than another black man.

A black youth confronts a store employee (and apparently wasn't the first time for the employee) then slugs the employee in the face when the employee pulls his legally owned firearm (presumed) and shoots the punk hospitalizing him in critical condition.

Now the black community is wanting the employee arrested and jailed for the shooting. I am sorry but he was justified in shooting that dude and if it was black on black we wouldn't be hearing about it. Why is it blacks always pull the race card? This is going to be another Zimmerman case I fear.

I have to point out a few things here. First, I do not know all the circumstances of this shooting only what was shown on that news article so take that into consideration with the rest of my comments.

1. Why did the clerk open the door...?
2. Not sure about in TX but in NM deadly force is never justifiable in response to a non deadly attack.
3. Race should stay out of whether or not the shooting was justified, it simply doesn't matter.

I'm sure there is more to this story, but based solely on what I see here (which again, isn't everything) I'd say the shooting wasn't justified. Unless the attacker at some later point displays a weapon or otherwise places the clerk in imminent otherwise unavoidable jeopardy of great bodily harm or death.

edit: Imminent jeopardy not potential or possible jeopardy yes people have died from being punched once but its not probable..I know this response will come up.

I have a couple things to mention.

A punch to the face can lead to a more deadly form of attack. No-one knows the training level of a person assaulting them, thus its safe to assume any attack would turn deadly if given a chance. IE not reacting in a manor to protect oneself.

From my own observations on physical assaults (seen various online videos/real attacks/etc) some can lead to disability with just a first hit, I seen a video of a police officer who was punched in the face, the officer had a broken jaw, and almost lost consciousness from first punch. The assailant went on to punch/kick and attempt to remove the officers weapon (before back-up arrived).

I personally refuse to be a victim, which is why I carry everyday I leave the house.

I see your point. However, what was shown was a simple battery. A petty misdemeanor crime in my state. Someone being punched in the face knocked down and the battery continues is a completely different scenario than what was pictured. I do acknowledge that some simple battery can lead to disfigurement, disability and death but it is not the norm. I think it would be hard to convince 12 reasonable and prudent citizens that a single punch to the face warranted deadly force.

The argument of what 'could' have happened is not relevant, its simply a guess. If what "could" happen had any legal standing an officer could employ deadly force while attempting to subdue a subject because the subject "could" take the officers firearm from its holster. Texas is a very gun-friendly state, we'll see what happens to the shooter...

I wont deny it was stupid to open the door - I wouldn't have.

But considering we only seen a short video clip, and add to that their is no witness statement from the other man that was inside. (at-least in the video)
What happened before is unknown, we only have a partial bit of information. But the news ive read is pointing out the clerk to be some gun nut who got shot once in past and now is shooting at anything. (they even brought up past events of him supposedly firing his gun into air)

I do not like the editing done on the security video - its too short, doesn't show everything leading up to the event - and also doesn't mention how after the one guy got shot - apparently the 2 guys that was with him ran up to the store and fired several shots.

One things for sure - the court of law, is now influenced way to much by the court of public opinion. And the statements of "anything you say or do can/will be used against you" seems to include every dumb or stupid thing you have done since being born..

This is great. The media will always show the outcome that THEY beleive to be correct and they'll manipulate facts to do so. I wholeheartedly agree with you on the court of public opinion, and bringing up things from the past. I'd like to see the court documents, police report and subsequent indictment though.

🙉🔫🙈🔨🔪🙊💩 He wouldn't be breathing if I would have been in there. Do these people just completely forget about center mass? You pull. You kill. Dead men tell no tales.

It's the welfare mentality. They don't want to work, this is an excuse you keep letting them use. You continue to feel guilty about slavery, an act YOU DID NOT COMMIT. When society as a whole stops feeling guilty about something they didn't do, some of those idiots will start looking for jobs.

Find a tire iron, baseball bat, knife etc. put it in the guys hands. Case closed.

Blah blah dumbass blah

You would probably have crapped your pants. Oooohh big talk from the crossdressing Manson fan!

Foolish advise. If you alter evidence, you will be presumed guilty by the authorities and your ability to stay out of jail will be compromised.

Not altering evidence. He came at me with a knife. Get rid of the surveillance tape and that is what happened.

i don't know bout y'all but if i was in the place alone and thought i'd get one last customer and trusting enough by letting him in then it turned ugli and he punched me in the face i think i would have used my gun for self defense too ..a blow to the face can be just as deadly as a gun imo
