The first, most important part of home invasion defense is to have an immediate action plan. The video below leads you through constructing one.

Here are the steps talked about in the video
Plan for where to go – secure yourself, look for alternate exit
Make a phone call to 911
If you don’t have a firearm on you, where is/are the firearm(s)

Remember whatever your plan is, you have to have one. Your family has to know what it is and you and your families have to practice it.

Howdy Navy Seal,

My suggestion for you would be to barricade yourself in your Mom's basement...... uh, I mean your "Command Post" while your Mom calls 9-1-1 and stands guard topside.

P.S. Since your Mom will not let you have a real gun make sure you have several air soft guns handy just in case the BGs breach your Mom's basement...... uh, I mean your "Command Post".

Not sure about the replies so far but this is my plan. It is only wife and I in house so no need to "clear the house" or look for kids etal
1. We lock our bedroom door and put large door stopper under door
2. I have at my bedside my cell (911), my garage door opener and set of car remotes w/emergency buttons--these all are activated. 911 for obvious reasons and car alarms with headlights blinking for noise and obvious location of house should LEOs arrive
3. I have my FN5.7X28 within arms reach, and 12g #4Buck within 5 steps
4. No lasers, no lights, no extras--I know my house in slight ambient light and they do not--I am not going to advertise my location
5. Both weapons are loaded in the chamber. I do not believe the wives tale about "jacking the slide" on the shotgun as putting fear in anyone, particularly a drughead who is in another world to begin with. The noise also tells the BG where I am and that I am waiting.
6. I have a location that makes door visible to me and me not really visible to anyone intent on defeating door
7. I will not leave bedroom. Stuff in other rooms is insured and replaceable. I am insured but not replaceable. They may be better at this stuff than me and I am not going to find out. I have no one else in house for me to worry about.
8. You come into my bedroom, I guarantee the BG that he has picked the wrong door
