Home Depot disrespecting the military

I'm a veteran. I have never seen anyplace which offers me a "veteran's ID." I am not going to carry a full sized DD214 around with me. Is there such a thing as a government ID card for veterans?

I could get Vet status put on my drivers license (NC) but I just carry my old red ID card, with a picture that looks nothing like this old man.

I go to Lowe's because their prices are usually lower in our area and I get a military discount on top of that.

Not to worry. Big Brother has told the VA to issue EVERY veteran living Veterans ID card. Take a big breath (but don't hold it) your ID is on the way. This means that every MAN AND WOMEN (and now the other) alive who EVER served will get an ID Card. Knowing the government, it will take forever.

Congress has approved the creation of a veterans' identification card, making it easier for veterans to prove military service without having to produce a military service record or some other valuable document.

Congress Passes Law Creating ID Card for Veterans | Military.com

On July 20, 2015 the President signed H.R. 91, which authorizes the Department of Veterans Affairs to issue Veteran ID cards to any Veteran who presents a DD-214. The DVA will charge a fee for the card. H.R. 91 will take effect September 20. We will update this page with application instructions as soon as the DVA issues them.

Getting a Veteran ID Card from the VA, State Agencies or DoD

Howdy,

I've had a VA ID card since Big George was in Office.

I've used mine numerous times for discounts at HD.

Every time the Manager would say "Thank you for your Service."

Maybe you get a VA ID card if you have signed up for VA medical benefits or some other VA program. It would be nice to have one for general ID purposes even if you haven't had to use a VA hospital.

Any and all Veterans can get a VA ID card. All you have to do is go to the nearest VA Medical Center and request an ID card.

Also all Veterans are eligible for healthcare through the VA. The cost will depend on what group you fall into.

Mine is free due to being Service Connected with a disabled greater than 50%.

Also your income level makes a difference in the cost for non-service connected Vets.
