Hi Point hand guns

Except I'll trust my life to an AK far more than I would to a Hi-Point. Better luck next time on the trolling. :)

Yup, for sure, AK is not all that bad, ask most of the world and the top rated terrorists. I like the Mini-s and the AR'but I would not throw an AK away, matter of fact would love to have one.

I bought a Hi point 45 acp in 2009. Went to the range & it jammed every 2nd round. Had to send it in for warranty work. I was initially disappointed that a new gun would malfunction in this manner. When the gun was returned it was like night & day. Worked well. Also sent was an extra magazine. About an $ 18.00 value.

I've since sold the Hi point 45. Yes they are cheap weapons. Very heavy. However if a Hi point is what's in your price range, I say by all means buy it. I enjoyed shooting it at the range. Hi point's customer service: very friendly. When I had issues with my 45, I wrote a letter to Hi point. They responded & sent a new magazine. Very helpful. Gun was returned, problem fixed.

Sold my Hi-Point C9. Too heavy. Didn't like the way it broke down for cleaning either. The roll pin was a PITA. It hated my reloads. But to be fair, it fired any store bought ammo I put through it.

I think it's a good pistol for a very first purchase to learn basics. Cheap, yes. Worth the money, yes. If you trash it, you aren't out much.

If you are strapped for money buy a Hi Point, break it in well, polish the feed ramp and shoot it. It will do the job till you can afford a quality gun.

By the way there were two Oregon college kids who were caught buying Hi Point guns and re-selling them to gang members in California. They sold 40-some Hi Points to the gangs.

I bought a Glock from Davidsons and while still in the gun store the rear sight fell off. Next day, new Glock. Stuff happens, anything manmakes shall break. Only question is when. Davidson's has as good warranty as good as the manufacture,s.

reading this thread makes me appreciate my old browning much more

In 1981, while at a shooten match a competator's front sight fell off. The only time I have seen the Browing foul up on the line. Wish I had one, but, that would mean an entire Cal/Mag and such.

My Hi Point 40 S&W is the best pistol for the money that I have except for my 70 series M1911 which I got for free. Trying to carry this pistol would be like carrying a boat anchor. It's easy on recoil and accurate.
