Hi-Point 9mm Carbine Review

I had a chance to shoot a Hi-Point 9mm Carbine over the weekend and I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised by this little gun. It was fun to shoot and it's built a heck of a lot better than the Hi-Point pistols which is a POS in my opinion. The carbine has 2 takedown pins that you rotate to break the gun down for cleaning. Compared to the design of their pistols I have to wonder if another reputable company built the gun for Hi-Point! The carbine is accurate. I'm sure the longer barrel and more time in the tube helps. It did hic-up on Russian ammo from time to time. When we changed to American made ammo with brass cartridges the problems went away. It's a great little gun but if I get one I'll have to hide it from my wife!

I love my Hi-Point 9 Carbine. These little guns are absolutely as good as their pistols are bad. Plus, the one I have eats the Russian ammo all day long. In fact, I honestly can't remember ever having any kind of hic-up with it from day one. Got a forward grip, red dot scope, tactical flashlight and 15 rd extended mag and still have under $350 in it. Cheap fun!

Do you have the new style or the old one? I have the old style in 9mm. I love that gun the only problem is no last round hold open. That is the one and only thing I don't like about it.

X-Beast's - lots of luck hiding it. Just get two... one each. :) Much safer and more pleasant all around that way.

I don't have one, but I have used one in the past and really like them. Had a HiPoint 9mm as well, and it was just fine except the blowback action made it really uncomfortable for me to shoot. (I'm an old lady) Let it go to one of the boys and he's having a ball with it. :)
