Here is a new idea for another anti gun law

Got Beretta's?
This is the wording from a bill that is being proposed in Albany Coming up in Codes on Wednesday.
A. 3292
It is labeled the Link Removed
It is a flowery wonderful sounding title for a bill that if you are against you obviously don't care about children,

This bill defines how YOU MUST store YOUR Firearms in YOUR home. This sanctions the teaching of hoplophobia to children.
The next step will be to give police authority to inspect your storage facilities in YOUR Home without a warrant.

Here is some wording.

The division of criminal justice services develop a weapons safety program designed to protect children from the risk of gun-related death and injury. Such program shall be designed to teach children to follow an effective safety procedure when they are exposed to a gun, shall specifically warn children that contact with guns can result in serious injury or death and shall have been proven to be effective to prevent injury through formal evaluation by objective public health and education professionals. Such program may be used in public and nonpublic schools at the discretion of the local school board of education or board of trustees,

This is part of a bill designed to make a crime out of not storing your firearms in a safe or lock box.

This is part of a new weapons storage bill which also states
Failure to store a weapon safely in the second degree.
A person is guilty of failure to store a weapon safely in the second degree when he or she stores or otherwise leaves a weapon out of his or her immediate possession or control without having first securely locked such weapon in an appropriate locked box or rendered it incapable of being fired by the use of a gun locking device appropriate to that weapon. Failure to store a weapon safely in the second degree is a violation.

265.50 Failure to store a weapon safely in the first degree.
A person is guilty of failure to store a weapon safely in the first degree when he or she commits the offense of failure to store a weapon safely in the second degree as defined in section 265.45 of this article and has been previously convicted of the offense of failure to store a weapon safely in the second degree as defined in section 265.45 of this article within the preceding five years.
Failure to store a weapon safely in the first degree is a class B misdemeanor.

265.55 Aggravated failure to store a weapon safely.
A person is guilty of aggravated failure to store a weapon safely when he or she commits the offense of failure to store a weapon safely in the second degree as defined in section
265.45 of this article and such weapon is removed from the premises or discharged by another person under the age of eighteen.

If you are smart enough to see through the rouse, call your ASSembly person. If you really think this is a great idea and it will prevent accidents then ........

Call or write your Assembly person today.

They know this to be true thanks to the Eddie Eagle program. We do not need another agency paid for be the taxpayers! Thank you NRA..they do it and in a cost efficient manor. Let the gun grabbers choke on the idea of the NRA's cost effective safety program coming to a school near you!:yes4:

I'll be calling the rep's, After the death of COBIS, and the failure of the downstate gang to ram microstamping through, we have to watch this one carefully. After all, it's "for the children,"

I've had a conversation with my state senator on this.

Those who reviewed the Heller decision may remember that one part of the SCOTUS decision stated that Washington D.C.'s requirement that any firearm must be locked or disassembled was ruled unconstitutional in that it rendered the gun useless for its purpose of being readily accessable for home defense. Any NYS state law requiring this would be exactly what was determined unconstitutional in D.C. v. Heller. This is why there is a provision in the proposed law stating "THE PROVISIONS OF THIS SECTION REQUIRING LOCKING OF A FIREARM SHALL NOT APPLY IF SUCH WEAPON IS NEEDED FOR THE LAWFUL PURPOSE OF SELF DEFENSE."

The kids education component is not to teach hoplophobia, but rather mirrors much of the NRA Eddie Eagle program. There was a time when these programs were taught in school. But the progressive thinkers in education began to demonize firearms such that the word "gun" can barely be spoken by a kid without some repurcussions. Asked to comment on this I advised that returning safety training to the schools would be an important part of keeping them safe. It takes the mystery out of firearms. It teaches them important issues so they don't learn everything from TV shows or some knucklehead. My senator showed me the proposed curriculum and asked for my thoughts. The curriculum I saw did not teach kids to be afraid of guns but rather introduced them to a society where gun ownership is prevalent. They're taught what to do if the find a gun, what to do if another kid produces a gun and begins to play with it. Perhaps an older sibling at a friend's house who suddenly shows his father's gun. Kids will be taught to leave and notify an adult before the nitwit other kid causes harm. The actual text on this reads:

"THE COMMISSIONER SHALL IN COOPERATION WITH THE DIVISION OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE SERVICES DEVELOP A WEAPONS SAFETY PROGRAM DESIGNED TO PROTECT CHILDREN FROM THE RISK OF GUN-RELATED DEATH AND INJURY. SUCH PROGRAM MAY BE USED IN PUBLIC AND NONPUBLIC SCHOOLS AT THE DISCRETION OF THE LOCAL SCHOOL BOARD OF EDUCATION OR BOARD OF TRUSTEES, WHICHEVER IS APPLICABLE (program not required in every school).

Most of us already enasure our kids understand this important safety info.

In any event, my GOP senator says it's DOA on arrival at the state senate because of the lockint requirement. If you have a senator who will speak freely with you on these issues, s/he can be an important source of information as the anti-gunners push many laws that are nixed by the senate.

I just want to know where they're going to find objective public health and education professionals?
You got that right. Although I'm sure there are one or two.
Our priorities are really a mess in this progressive era.
The Schools will now teach sex is gender-less and gun are evil.
You can be a hoplophobe but you can't be a homophobe.
I dunno, I really fear for my grandchildren.
We are being turned into morlocks and eoli (figuratively speaking)

......and that shows even more the importance of the elections in November. If we loose the majority in the Senate, we (gun owners) will be toast.

Absolutely true. Other states might be inclined to see the same threat on the horizon.
