Help me fix Connecticut

I am just like you. I am a gun owner, a permit holder, a father. I am not a millionaire, to be honest I would have to take out a loan just to pay attention!
I am a retired truck driver(not by choice) and firefighter.
What makes me different I guess is the fact that I have decided to run for Governor of Connecticut in 2014.
I am not a politician, nor do I have any plans on being one.I don't want to be senator,or POTUS. I just am sick and tired of some stuffed suit who was born with a silver spoon in their mouth, telling me that they understand what we are going through.
Really? Have you ever been homeless? Have you ever been so broke that you had to sell your belongings just to put food on the table?
Well I have...And I do understand what you are going though, because I am going through it too.
I have no money,no campaign manager, no intern,or speech writers.
I have common sense....and I plan on using that to try and fix what years of corruption, and career politicians have screwed up.
Time to try and put the power back into our hands! A vote for me....Is a vote for YOU!

I think for starters, you have to make sure that at least everything you write is true; I mean your signature quote - Washington never said that. The closest to that is what he said in his first SOU.

I wish he had said that, but these bogus quotes damage our cause.

After living a decade in CT off and on, and still having a license to carry there, I think CT is not something that can be "fixed", because the majority of the residents don't see it as broken. Especially regarding the topic here, the "Constitution State" is trying to change the Bill of Rights locally. You are in the minority, because if you weren't, your local and national representatives would be very different already!

My way of "fixing" things in CT was to move from there, and stop supporting CT through taxes. I won't even renew my CT pistol permit, so that they don't get that 70$. I think the best possible fix is for all people who agree with our causes here, all the firearms manufacturers and NSSF to move from CT to stop supporting them through taxes. Don't waste your efforts on CT - it is headed in the opposite political direction than the one you wish, and has been for a long time.

Seriously? The only thing you can come up with is to first insult me do to a quote I did not write, and then to encourage people to run away?
Please, Don't come back to CT because we don't need negative people such as yourself. There are those of us who have pride in our state.
Who have had enough and want to fight back. I was going to run...But what would that solve? Nothing so I got pissed and then I got active!
I may not have a snowballs chance in hell of winning, but I will open some eyes and I will go down swinging!

Some of us can not move! And we have to try to change things here! Please understand we all have to stand up to the antiguners! Support for us would be better than criticism. I applaud
Drgnslr for the determination to stand up to the idiots!

What I was taught in the military is that there is no point fighting a skirmish in place where it cannot accomplish anything except waste time, ammunition, and taking unnecessary flak.

Every $ Drgnslr spends on his stand-up in CT, chances are will go to an entity that is against him, controlled and staffed by a majority which disagrees with his views - everything from the state bureaucrats, to the majority of CT LE, to the CT media companies, to the majority of the neighbors on your street. They are the ones who elected the CT politicians!

Drgnslr's "time is money" too, which I am sure he can find plenty of more productive areas of his life to spend. What can be done in CT with regard to guns is already being done by much more capable groups - NRA, GOA, CT arms manufacturers, NSSF, grassroots groups, which have made stand-up after stand-up to no avail at all!

As in any other state, the issue is not the politicians, but your fellow citizens who elected them! In CT, more and more of the majority doesn't agree with you, and the rest, such as the NRA, GOA, CT arms manufacturers and NSSF don't care either way, because they know you'll keep sending them money no matter what happens - if not through sales, then through taxes...

Fighting the antigunners in CT has long ago become a hopeless waste of time and money.

First let me address the whole money issue.....I am not spending money to get elected, I am not asking for money to get elected.
I am just like every other blue collar person in CT......Broke! I would have to take out a loan just to pay attention.:nono:
As far as my time...it is just that MY TIME and I choose to spend it just like I am doing.
There is more to this election than just firearms laws, There are tax issues, mental healthcare issues, crime and corruption at all levels and in all cities.
I want to bring a fresh perspective and common sense approach to fixing these problems.:pleasantry:
No BS promises, No lies, NO hidden agendas. Just a regular guy trying his best to fix the problems in his state, and put the power back in the hands of the people.
P.S. My name is Ed. Sullivan. Drgnslr is just a tag name/nick name from my days as a firefighter.

It's laughable that they continue to call it " The Constitution State ". I think they need to add, either "un" or "formerly known as" to the states nickname in order to more correctly indicate
the current political atmosphere in connecticut ( deliberately left uncapitalized ).

Hey Ed.... I'm not from CT, but good luck in your efforts. Don't let the bastards get you down. Fight the good fight. Don't tuck tail and run. One of the reasons why a lot of the anti-gun laws have come into play is because people didn't stand up. Good for you.

If you're going to be governor you can't tell people not to come back to CT. To be in politics, even an honest man must learn a certain lying "tact" so his detractors can't use his own words against him.

Why? Cuomo said that New Yorkers didn't want conservatives and that all conservatives should leave. //sarcasm

So Ed - what will your key issues be? Have you established a website? Are you officially registered for the next Gov race? When does Malloy expire anyway (:sarcastic:)
how would you rate your public speaking and debate skills? In order to influence the race and steer the conversation to your issues, people have to take you seriously.

Unfortunately, my experience has been that even if you succeed beyond your wildest, there are too many sheeple in CT who will willingly trade their liberty (which they don't perceive as liberty, they perceive gun ownership as a plague) for the illusion of safety. The uninformed masses aren't able or willing to make the logical leap that law abiding citizens with guns help keep the peace and pose no threat to anyone but criminals. The politicians who pass garbage like the recent draconian gun bill are intellectually dishonest, because they DO know better. They just hate your guns. So the sheeple will continue to vote for the liberal guy who promises more free housing and food stamps. Not everyone, not everywhere, but enough that a conservative stands no chance there. As a former resident there who luckily escaped before this crapola got enacted, i pity those of you freedom-lovers still stuck in the People's Republic of Connecticut.
