Hello Need help with maine CCW

Hello everyone. I just joined and have a question regarding getting a maine ccw. I'm pretty confused with the section where it says ( "Do you have a mental disorder that causes you to be potentially dangerous to yourself or others?" ). Does this include past depression? Is it a mental disorder that is founded in court? Who is the person that defines you as having said mental disorder according to the laws?

From the CFP application documents posted by the Maine state government on line, it appears that Maine has a self-reporting requirement similar to Michigan. I'm not seeing anything that says you have to have a doctor's note, but some of the Maine web sites I saw indicate that you might be required in some instances to give access to your mental health records. In Michigan, if you are not adjudicated to be mentally unstable and are not currently taking medication or undergoing treatment to treat a mental health issue, then you can legally answer that question No.

It would be wise to consult with your CFP class instructor or call one of the Maine firearm owners groups.
