Hi y'all,
Just joined & have question for those of you who CC a .45. I don't currently carry, but I'm looking into my options. So far I'm kind of waffling between something more concealable like an LC9 (looks like the LC's are pretty popular here), and something that will require more creative concealment but in my preferred .45 cal, probably a Glock 30. I'm asking more concerning the .45. I'm leaning to a Glock 30, partly because I'd also like a G21 for home, range, etc. and I could use the larger cap magazines in the G30 as well. Glock mainly because out of everything I've handled so far (admittedly not a lot, but 1911, HK USP Compact .45, Sig 229 .40 cal, but similar to the 220 compact in size and feel), the Glocks just fit my hand very naturally. I wanted to like the XDM, but compared to the Glock they just don't feel as "right" to me.
Anyway, back to my question(s): If you carry a G30 (or G21), how do you conceal it, and what's your general build (I'm 5'10", 185, and medium build). I know I'd have to change my wardrobe considerably to conceal, unless I only carry in something like a Maxpedition Fatboy (aka, "Man Purse" Hah!). Ultimately I guess it would be a G30 in winter with big clothes, and an LC9 in summer, but what do y'all think? Thanks!

I carry a full size 1911 during the winter in a shoulder holster. It is practically impossible to conceal during warm months due to the size and weight. I am currently shopping for something small to carry in an ankle holster. The LC9 would be a good choice for that. Note: You can always put custom grips on a handgun to get that more stable feel to it. I did.

Not a Glock owner but I would say carry what fits you and are comfortable shooting. There are many excellent iwb conceal holsters that will handle larger autos and hide well. I think a 45 is an excellent choice due to it's reputation as a one shot man stopper and availability of ammo both rn and jhp's. I carry a hicap XD 45 4" iwb and in some coat/vest pockets with great success so I don't think your choice of a G30/21 is a bad one. If you really like it then buy it, I don't think you'll be disappointed. Some great iwb holsters are Milt Sparks Versamax 2, Brigade Gunleather, Crossbreed Supertuck, Comp-Tac, Galco, Bulman gunleather etc. Remember to get a high quality belt too to support the weight of the gun plus ammo.

I use the Desantis cozy partner for my both my .45s and my .40. Its a inside the pants holster and runs around 70$. Very comfortable

I carry a Glock 36 (now) and wear it in a variety of holsters. My best conceal is a Crossbreed IWB and I also have a DeSantis King Tuk which is quite comfortable. For OWB I use a Blackhawk Serpa Level 2 or a Blackhawk CQC Leather hi rise. Easy conceals everywhere. I didn't go with the 30 because it was too thick for IWB.

Oh yeah, my build. My name says it all. 6'6" 300lb.

I carry a .45 Colt Commander in a Crossbreed ST. The 1911 is going to be a little thinner. However, when you dress properly about anything can be concealed. Balance with an extra mag on the opposite to give same visual effect and just to balance. The even weight out and it will take less toll on your back.
5' 11" - about 230

I carry a full size 1911 in a shoulder rig. Every man decides for themselves what feels best for them, remember it is better to carry a .22 pocket pistol than nothing at all.
