OK...snopey people: prove me wrong...:sarcastic:

Interesting information I did not know. Read the below information. Be sure and scroll down to read it all.

Heart Attack & Water:

Something I didn't know either! I asked my Doctor why do I and other people urinate (pee) so much at night time. Answer from my Cardiac Doctor = Gravity holds water in the lower part of your body when you are upright. When you lie down and the lower body (legs and other things) seeks level with the kidneys it is then that the kidneys remove the water because it is easier. This then ties in with the last statement!

I knew you need your minimum water to help flush the toxins out of your body, but this was news to me.

Correct time to drink water... Very Important. From A Cardiac Specialist!

Drinking water at a certain time maximizes its effectiveness on the body:

2 glasses of water after waking up - helps activate internal organs

1 glass of water 30 minutes before a meal - helps digestion

1 glass of water before taking a bath - helps lower blood pressure

1 glass of water before going to bed - avoids stroke or heart attack

Please pass this to the people you care about......

I can also add to this... My Physician told me that water at bed time will also help prevent night time leg cramps. Your leg muscles are seeking hydration when they cramp and wake you up with a Charlie Horse.

Would those two glasses after waking up count if you put coffee in them"
I have no idea mate! I don't drink coffee. I buy a box of coconut water and that is what I drink mostly, guaranteed to make me go and pee. good for lowering my cholesterol too...and blood pressure.

Is there any substantive evidence that any of what your good Doc says is in fact true? Like scientific tests or data?

I've had doctors and cardiologists tell me for years that if I would treat my hypercholesterolemia with statin drugs I would prevent heart attacks/disease and that just was not true! They also told me that a low fat-low cholesterol diet was healthy. Alas - again not true.

Just because even a credentialed individual makes a statement does not make it true even if it does sound good and we would like to believe it.

Mom, I doubt Snopes knows squat about pee! As for me, if I drank a glass of water before bed, I might as well sleep on the can!

When I get leg cramps I take a potassium pill. Stops them in justs couple mins. I always keep water by the bed & sometimes wake up & drink. Always drink a good bit B4 turning out the light. Its a big mug I take with me. Only thing ever stopped leg cramps 4 me was potassium cause I always have water & lots of it. Even a banana or yogurt with potassium will do the trick if you don't have the pills.

Got some cramps when I was in Texas. I think I sweated all my potassium out during the day so my morning pill was gone. Had 2 get up & find some yogurt that had it & bam they went away B4 I finished the cup.

+6 -- I love posts like this one. Physically or otherwise, we are not perfect. We all have our ailments here and there especially as we aged. One system work for one but not the other. No harm in trying them every now and then. I too have cramps every now and then hence I looked for ways to alleviate it or if I can get rid of it altogether, the better. The human body itself is a complicated system that not even the best engineer or inventor be able to construct it by itself. Thank you for your post.

The emergency medical field has a term for this. We all get it and even die from it. It's referred to as TMB (too many birthdays). :pleasantry:

I know a shortcut to reducing your cholesterol...I did it for me and my husband -- broccolli -- you know "those little trees in a bunch..." (my kids' terminology, not mine) and also spinach. Anything green...but these two are guaranteed for us so why not give it a try. Anyway you can buy those coconut water at a Walmart store. It has to be the ones in the can, not the cardboard ones. The cardboard container ones taste yuk! When I go to an Asian store, I buy them by the box. It last me a good while...

What do you call the guy who graduated last in his class at med school?

DOCTOR!

I've tried not celebrating them. Doesn't seem to work too well. Other than that I haven't found a solution.
