Not only do I know what this is, I have a two seat one in the back of my property. Here’s a bit of trivia for you, there’s two kinds of outhouses, one with a star on the door and one with a half-moon on the door.
The most common one’s you see is the one’s with the half-moon on the door, that’s because they were the ones for women to use and the ones with a star were for men and since men didn’t take care of their outhouse they then would fall apart quicker and over the years become nonexistent.

There was one on some property my parents bought back in the 60s. Or part of one anyway, just the sitting part. I think maybe it's still there. It was near where I practice shooting.
But I had friends during that same time that I stayed with often and that was all they had. So yeah, I used one when necessary when I was there. For some reason I always worried about snakes and spiders biting me.
