Has the RUSH to buy affected reloading machines?

A friend recently ordered a Dillon RL 550B , seems to be taking a long time -- anyone know if the buying rush has affected the relaoder mnfr's. too? Just wondering. Usually Dillons shipping is extremely fast.
From what I see of components & ammo in the NY area -if you see any, buy some!

I remember the same shortages back in the Clinton gun ban era. Primers were hard to find. Talks of banning anything gets people out buying. Hope the manufactures catch up with demand before someone actually bans anything.

I'm surprised people are buying presses right now since primers are almost impossible to find, especially small pistol. But then they are still buying firearms that they can't find ammo for as well.

It's getting difficult to buy MANY reloading supplies now. If ordering Lee Reloading Dies you have to get on a backorder list now for most calibers (especially 223) and when it comes to reloading components you'd be hard pressed to find any primers available. I happened to be at Mace Sports in Mebane, NC yesterday and stumbled across some primers. It was $35 per thousand of SPP and LPP and $38 per thousand for some SRMPs. I spent a little more than I wanted but went ahead and grabbed a thousand of each!

I've been look for some Alliant power pistol for 5 weeks now.. No luck in any local shop or either gun show I've gone too. Ya it's affecting us. Really sucks.

I have informed folks to buy any and all powder or other components. I have been stuck on Dillon for many years and was very surprised at the site notice and time on the phone just to order back up parts. I have bought 2 for 1 of what I shoot and reload for a number of years and have adequate supplies but not able to refresh stock used. I asked the tax man this last month about his ammo and he stated he bought the RCBS press because it was available for a short wait.

Just before the Sandy Hook shooting, I was preparing to get back in the reloading arena...building my bench, etc. However, since I can't currently get components, I'm waiting for things to settle down before ordering my equipment.

I bought a Dillon 550b at the beginning of the year. It took about six weeks but well worth the wait. What I see happening is some folks are investing in the Dillons and selling them on eBay jacking the prices. Example a saw a new Dillon swage on eBay for double the price from Dillon. I bought mine from Dillon and it cost 120 with shipping but had to wait about nine weeks to get it. The guy on eBay was selling them for 218. I will say that when you buy a Dillon machine it speeds the process to get it with the dies they have on hand. You get one set free with the machine. If you want 223 dies it will delay the order to at least 12 weeks.
