Has it ever happened to a forum member?

We've read a lot about laws and members opinions involving drawing, shooting or brandishing your weapon and if a certain scenario would be lawful.

With that I ask, "Has a forum member ever brandished, drawn or shot" their handgun and have been found to have done so lawfully? If so, care to give details of how/what happened?

But on a serious note, the OP asked a serious question and was looking for actual answers....Not to be an ass, but if you don't have an actual answer, perhaps start your own thread for smart ass replies with quotes from the posts of your choice.

On a serious tip I'm going to guess that your answer is going to be "No." The people that take self defense shootings seriously are all on thehighroad.org or thefiringline.org. What shows up over here are the mall ninjas and the 12 bravos.(one two bees).

That said it is generally considered bad form to ask such a question because the people who have shot some one don't generally want to talk about it to a bunch of anonymous strangers and the folks that want to talk to a bunch of anonymous strangers about the people they've shot generally haven't.

Seriously not many want to talk about it. There is also the legal side. Lets just say for arguments sake I(you,or anybody else on this forum) had ever been in a situation where I LEGALLY acted in self defence and LEGALLY killed someone and later was found by the police or prosecuter or judge to have acted in a proper and LAWFUL manner,there is still the possibility of civil court action depending on the State it was in. Even after all of the court cases are over the image of that person who you shot will be with you forever. Some of us will talk about when we had our gun out of the holster AND DID NOT HAVE TO SHOOT,thats one thing. A few might even admit to shooting but to give the details on how they felt when pulling the trigger and realizing that a person was dead because of that trigger pull,the wild emotions,the nightmares,I doubt it.

I'm thankful each, and everyday.That I have not had to draw, shoot, or use my Weapon.

It's not a experience that I would look forward too. I do train @ least 2-3 times a week. And would like to think, that I have become an Respectful Shooter.

I do believe that all the training in the world will not prepare you for that crutial moment when bullets start firing. When this type of situation, your basic Instinct of fear takes over, and this fear is what keeps you Alive 99% of the time.
