God Bless Our Troops!!!
Has anybody else noticed the crime rates going up in their areas? I have a SpotCrime Crime Map alert in my e-mail. When I first started using it a few years back it might be a week or so between alerts and at that they would be DUI's or Domestic Violence, or trespassing.

Now I get 2 alerts daily about crimes within 25 miles of the homestead. It is mostly theft, burglary, criminal trespass, and robbery. I still see the occasional DUI's or Domestic Violence, but the overall crime rate is on the rise where we are and i am very concerned that as soon as the welfare checks quit rolling into the trailer courts, the druggers will be moving further and further into rural areas to try and steal what they can to get their next fix.

2 Timothy 3:3 NKJV
But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, 4 traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power

Crime always goes up during major recessions because the bad guys become unemployed too.

Crime was lowest during the Clinton boom years, for the same reason, that it goes down during boom times, when bad guys have jobs, and demand for dope goes up, so they sell more.

Home invasion crime is up the most in our area.

Therefore it makes sense to take a defensive handgun class with multiple targets.

Some defensive firearms classes include shotguns or assault rifles as well.

Take your pick.

Treo, Jesus ain't coming anytime soon, brother, so don't get your panties all in a twist.

He did not come right after the crash of 1929, and he ain't coming now.

Praise the Lord.

I have noticed that it, awhile ago there wasn't a serious violent crime in my area then there was a single murder about a year and a half ago and now there has been several violent crimes in 2012

Crime generally goes up a tad with nice weather,be it cold goes down severe heat down some but not as much as severe cold.

1st Peter 3:3-4 NKJV 3 knowing this first: that scoffers will come in the last days, walking according to their own lusts, 4 and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation.”

To answer the question more directly, yes, I have noticed that the crime rate in my area is going up. I’ve also noticed that the crimes are becoming more violent and there seem to be more sexual crimes against children.

That said, as a Christian I see it as a sign of the times more than a result of the present economy (which I also see as a sign of the times)

Just wait till Obama hears about this and tries to fix or reform it.

He'll probably support them. After all, aren't they part of the 99%?

As the libtards in the legal system insist on more and more coddling of incarcerated criminals, more and more BGs are sent back to the streets. Added to that is the habit of official-dumb to cut cops and jails when revenue is down, instead of entitlements, which puts MORE BGs on the street. This is enough to cause a noticeable increase in crime rates, even without taking previously mentioned reasons into account.

Then, when someone does pop a punk, he gets reamed for it. (Sorry - I couldn't help myself... On second thought, I'm not sorry... :-))

Crime in my home area is about the same, nothing really goes on. It is the type of old style neighborhood where you have lots of room, cul-de-sac and everyone knows everyone else. Strangers stick out. A lot of the people in the area within about 5-7 miles of me have grown up in the area, with multiple generations living in the area.
However, in the area where I work, yes, crime is going up, shootings, breakins, etc.

Where I live in Arkansas the last crime here was over a month ago. It's so quite here we watch the light in downtown change for excitement!:drag:

Nope. Where I live a "crime wave" is a gas drive off and a bar fight in the same month. :) Out on the ranches some things have changed a bit. Used to be some cattle rustling now and then, but now days they are branding the big bales of hay and building tall fences around hay lots. Who would ever have thought crooks would rather steal hay than cattle?

Quopte from Shoobee: "Treo, Jesus ain't coming anytime soon, brother, so don't get your panties all in a twist.

Now Shoobee, how do you know this? Even Jesus Himself doesn't know, 'til the Father tells Him. His return is imminent... and it could be tonight. We should all be ready.

Trollbee can't answer that question, the BAN hammer has spoken :p

I can say without question that crime has gone up. I work in the LP field. My numbers are without question worse off this year than last. What I'm seeing is that the lower income folks see an easy way to make money and make a bad decision. I also see the entitled crowd see the easy way out and take it. the difference is in the type of crimes they are committing and the frequency with which they commit them.

I've also been seeing an increase in violent crimes in the area. More home invasions, more shootings, more beatings etc... Than I ever remember seeing. Now being that I live in a very small state all of the issues always hit close to home. If you can drive across the state in 2 hours its not really comforting when a home invasion happens on the east side of the state outside of a major city. I follow the local news almost religiously to keep abreast of whats going on. So far closest Home invasion was 10 minutes from the house, perpetrated by someone completely foreign to the homeowner. This happened in a town that up until now never saw this type of thing.

Imagine the laugh I had when the local news ran a story stating that legal gun ownership has risen 57% this year. So in short Yes I have noticed more crime.
