Happy Easter

I just ran across this amusing sign somewhere on the Interweb. It seemed fitting for today's celebration of Easter.

Enjoy the day.

Now how was Easter to all of you? There's a lot I had learned yesterday...one of them was how different our cultures are. In many parts of the world, Australia for one, or even the Philippines for example, stores are not in business on Good Friday because "Jesus died". A somber tone during Saturday though some stores are open for business because Jesus was supposed to be "still dead". Then Sunday, everything goes back to normal, stores are open, most businesses that operates on Sunday are open in a sort of celebration because "Jesus rose from the dead" so to speak. In Australia alone, the only services that do operate their businesses on Good Fridays are a few pharmacy stores, some gasoline stations and of course the corner stores. Good Friday is the one day of the year that major businesses do not operate. Here? Everything is closed on Easter Sunday because of a bunny rabbit and easter egg-hunt? Maybe some other "easter reasons"? I just find this odd...really!?!

Going back to bed...goodnight all...

Not so odd, Mom. Many people have different beliefs and different ways of honoring/celebrating them. Most beliefs are just variations of other beliefs. Just take comfort in your's and your rituals and respect other's beliefs and rituals. :)

Thanks Jim...I was just annoyed that my American husband did not tell me the stores are closed here on Easter Sunday. Maybe he had no idea like I do because of our frequent travels here and there and never really get to settle down until recently. I went out to go to church with him then asked if he want to come with me shopping for Sunday's best clothes to refresh my wardrobe. But then, hey...! this is St. Louis. We didn't have big cities like Chicago or New York, two cities we are trying to avoid including Kommifornia.

I shouldn't have been in the forum in the early morning anyway... sorry for the rant.
