Troy LaMont is trying to make a "how to" doing a backwards left-handed draw with his holstered semi-automatic pistol. His sights are clean and his aim is true. He tries to pull his Glock to shoot at the steel target on his shooting range and ends up blasting a toe off. It's a quick, clean, painful amputation. He probably wishes he was out of ammunition but he's still got a full magazine and shoots his own toe off! Sad but funny as hell! He looks at his bloody toe and starts crying for his wife.
.
Troy LaMont does not have much of a gun collection anymore and is thinking about switching over to ping pong as a hobby. He may still hunt with his rifle as that is safer than his pistol but getting shot kind of ruins the whole ballistic experience.

My Thoughts: Oops Big Time, he’s lucky it wasn’t a HP in the main part of his foot or lower leg.

Learning to shoot with your off hand isn't the same thing as being ambidextrous. I would guess that learning to shoot with his left hand made him overconfident in his abilities, and he assumed all other proficiency he had learned with his right would transfer to the left, such as holster technique and trigger discipline.

Guess one has to take his word that he shot his foot. But still not sure he really knows how to use his off hand for shooting. Holding the weapon upside down to shoot takes a lot of practice I am sure and looks like he may not know how to handle it.

FYI: I have been taught by an instructor to draw and shoot with my left hand in case my right hand is incapacitated. The technique depends on were you carry your firearm. In any case, shooting the firearm upside down wasn't part of it. Quick-draw wasn't part of it either. Remember, if you shoot yourself, it still counts.

PS: So you just shot yourself and now yell for help, because you have no trauma kit on you and you have no first aid training.
