The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun, is a good guy with a gun/knife/etc.... Why take away one means of self defense when we know that criminals don't obey laws. That's why criminals are criminals, because they don't obey laws.

Add in there courage to face the BG, and a bit of luck doesn't hurt. I guess all of these matter more than simply having a weap.
