A Pegram man has been charged with attempted second-degree murder after Cheatham County authorities said he shot at his neighbor Monday night.
Investigator Travis Walker said Abele and Troy Jenkins, 41, who was shot multiple times, began arguing outside their homes on Garcia Road about 10 p.m. Monday.
The two have bickering for the past year over a number of issues.
Walker said some of the issues involved Abele riding a go-kart on the road and cutting grass early in the morning.
The ongoing feud escalated Monday night.
“At one point, both men had a weapon,” Walker said. “One had a piece of pipe, and the other had pulled out a knife.”
Walker said Abele dropped the pipe and grabbed a shotgun from his home.
“He fired three rounds and hit the victim at least twice,” said Walker, adding that Jenkins was hit in the hand, arm, stomach and the back of his head.
