Is not San Fransisco and Kalafornicate in general gun free zones? Sounds like a real jungle there to me and I would not think of going into a jungle unarmed.

RICHMOND, Calif. — A gunman wearing a hooded sweatshirt and flanked by two companions walked into a San Francisco Bay area church and stalked the aisles before opening fire during a Sunday service, wounding two teenagers, police said.

The three men wore their hoods over their heads and investigators believe they were scanning the pews for someone before firing about five shots and hitting a 14-year-old boy and a 19-year-old man at about 12:30 p.m. in front of about 100 people at New Gethsemane Church of God in Christ, Richmond police Sgt. Bisa French said.

Charles Miller, a 64-year-old deacon at the church, said members of the congregation were about to tell the men to take off their hoods when the shooting began.

"I was listening to the choir and all of a sudden there was a 'pop pop pop pop pop,"' Miller told the San Francisco Chronicle. "Everyone hit the floor. I didn't know the shooting was inside the church at first, until I heard all of the hollering and screaming."

The 14-year-old was hit in the shoulder and the 19-year-old was struck in the leg, French said. Both victims, whose names haven't been released, were hospitalized and were expected to survive. There were no other injuries.

The three men fled and no suspects have been arrested, French said.

"It's terrible when you come to the house of the Lord and start doing this," Miller said. "It's just something you don't do."

Investigators believe the men were targeting someone in the church but don't know if the two who were hit were the intended targets, French said.

"If it wasn't the victims that were hit, it was somebody near them," she said.

French said investigators were interviewing witnesses to see if anyone recognized the men.

A handful of congregants returned to the church after police processed the crime scene and finished the service.

"We went on and had church anyway," Miller told the Chronicle. "We were giving thanks that nobody was killed. We wanted to go and serve the Lord anyway."

The small, off-white two-story church is surrounded by a red-and white wrought-iron fence in a residential section of Richmond, a city of 103,000 on the eastern Bay shoreline north of Oakland and Berkeley.

The city has already seen seven homicides in 2010, and garnered national attention because of the alleged gang rape by as many as 10 people of a 16-year-old girl outside an October homecoming dance at Richmond High School, with as many as 20 bystanders allegedly watching.

Not possible! According to the Brady ratings California is a wonderful state. Richmond is bay area near San FranPsycho where everybody is a screaming liberal who would never never never touch a gun! Plus California has wonderful, bulletproof (snicker) gun control! Background checks at the state level, ten day waiting period, multiple IDs required, safe handgun list, identification for ammunition purchase, a card for handgun owners that is only available after paying your tribute and passing a comprehensive (choke) exam.

It is not remotely possible for somebody who would misuse a firearm to acquire one in the Peoples' Paradise...

And the 'gangs' you malign so maliciously are only social organizations...

U R the next Hemingway! :sarcastic: Sure glad I don't live there anymore!

Most of the wacko Kalifornia gun laws were made in response to gang violence. The lib-tards really believe if you make up rules, everyone will fall in line and there will be no trouble. Everyone will hold hands and sing kumbahyah. Pass that joint will ya?
In California you have to produce an ID to buy ammo. That law makes me laugh. No .50 cal? I can just see a Kalifornia low rider with a .50 cal mounted on the roof. Did those law makers ever pickup a Barrett?
According to "those" people", Take away all the guns, and their will be no gun violence.
As indicated by this recent violent act, the gang bangers don't pay attention to the rules.
The lib-tards are very happy having these rules on the books, and now, they must react to this recent act of violence by making more rules. Perhaps more social programs. The gang bangers will follow the new rules they hope.
Along the way, collect some tax money for social programs to help out the gang bangers while they are in prison.
The solution to all this gun violence is simple. Use a gun during a criminal act , go to prison for a very long time.
Locking up the guns and ammo will not work.
Locking up the criminals will.

And what really works is when the criminals are shot dead the second they start firing!

I wonder when the antis will open their eyes and see the relation between strict gun control, and criminal violence. I mean it's like clear as freaking day that the worst shootings, and most shootings overall, happen in "gun free" zones, or states with strict gun control.

California has a '3-strikes' law already, and they have overburdened their prison system (which is much larger than any state-CA included-can afford). Because of the failure to deal with crime OR criminals, the Federal Government is requiring they release many prisoners back onto a disarmed public.

Unless you're willing to greatly increase the number of executions beyond what ANY state appears willing to do, I really don't think traditional (traditional meaning the last several decades) thinking will work.

What we need to to is delegislate American life and return to a Constitutional Republic.
Honest citizens armed as they please would do more to created a civil society than any further government infringement on our rights.

The problem is we haven't spent enough money. We need more liberals in power that know how to spend the money properly. And we need more feel good laws. As long as liberals feel good about what they are doing life is good. Maybe if we had more lawyers to protect the poor innocent criminals.

Like I said on another thread, I think "gun-free" zones should become "guns welcomed" zones. Would make them a lot safer.
