Gun Store

Lots of places i have been doing business with for many years in my home town have stopped ordering guns and ammo. Most of these stores are huge businesses and have been selling guns and ammo for decades and other sporting supplies. Most have also raised gun prices on all firearms. I have advised all of them that i will not be doing business with them anymore or in the near future. Stores just don't get it. If people stop buying or doing business with them then they will not be in business long. Either support your second amendment rights to bear arms or shut your damn stores it is your choice to make and a pretty simple choice. The second amendment means more to me then any amount of money ever will. I have been dealing with 20 + stores for years. It is sad to see these people favoring money over the second amendment. If you don't sell then how can you expect to stay in business. Just sharing some information.

My TN Stores:

Wal-Mart Stores
Bass Pro Shops
Gunny's Gun Shops
****'s Sporting Goods
Dave's Gun Shops
Outdoor Junctions
Specialty Arms Shops
Tactical Arms and Ammo
Western Outfitter Arms
Gun City USA
Nashville Sporting Arms
Nashville Armory Arms
East Side Guns and Ammo

There is over 20 + stores i have did business with and i have advised them all that me and my wife will no longer be shopping or doing business with them anymore and that i would advise all of our friends to do the same. This has nothing to do with just ammo. It has to do with everything else in general also. I have also sent statements to the online stores i do business with advising them also that i will no longer be ordering anything or placing anymore orders with them and to remove my credit card information. Either you support the second amendment or you will not get anymore money from me. Just sharing some information

What stores are doing this? Every store in my area is having issues keeping stuff of the shelf, and the big box stores haven't raised prices much if all. The LGSs are for the most part price gougers, with very few exceptions.

we are seeing the same here at the Pacific Northwest.

In Jacksonville, fl one off my favorite stores is price gauging very bad. I understand demand causing prices to rise, but doubling pricing is gauging. I am finding my stuff online and my local little FFL is getting my business off transfers now.

It isn't just one. Shooters, Green Acres, St Nicholas...all have gone off the rails. The only one I haven't seen do it is Gun Gallery, but they haven't had any stock of anything the last 3 times I was in there.

And the owner of wild west was just on the radio this morning saying he supports the assault weapons ban...while saying in the same breath his sales are up 1000% in the last month

Funny thing is, I think Obama almost anticipated this price gouging and limited supply to happen, maybe this was his gun control idea all along? Like Ive said and many others have said, President Obama is the worlds best gun & ammo salesmen

My LGS isn't gouging, but he also can't get any guns or ammo to sell. He found 8 new Gen 3 Glocks at a distributor across the country. The distributor marked them up $50.00. The LGS passed on the markup but didn't raise them any more.

He was able to order a case of 9mm ammo last week. He was able to order 8 boxes of .40 this week. He doesn't know when he'll be able to get any more.

The local Jerry's (Harrisburg) is essentially out of hand guns. They don't have any handguns. They usually have thousands on the shelf. I could get popular deer rifle ammo if I wanted any - .270Win, .30-06 Spr, .243Win, but .223 is scarce - thankfully I don't need it, I have lots of bullets, powder, and primers.

The people that don't reload are going to be hurting for ammo for a while.

The handgun manufacturer's are running 24/7 trying to keep from falling behind so fast. Catching up isn't even possible.

Dealers, faced with continuing overhead cost, and nothing to sell, are trying to stay afloat by raising prices. I don't blame them.

Best advice, right now: If you don't 'need' something, don't buy it.

Yep! a friend of mine was going to buy a Sig or H&K before the holidays and went back to talk about it to his wife and when I came back they mark the Sig up $200 more. It's a good thing that I have all the guns I need but just want to keep up on my ammo.

I haven't heard of any problems (so far) at any of the Fleet Farm stores. At the one where I work I planned to check out some handguns after work and I couldn't get anywhere near the gun counter. It was packed with people buying guns, filling out paperwork. I asked if was always like that and was told it's been extremely busy for the last few days. If it stays like that I might not even be able to buy a handgun from my own store. Just cause I can't get near the counter.

So I guess you won't be buying any more guns. Every LGS In the country and every gun show at least in my area has raised their prices at least 30% some as high as 60% on AR's. Less product higher demand. It’s sad it has to be that way but that's why they call it capitalism. I guess I will just wait until sales slowdown and prices level off before I get to make my next purchase.

Not 100% true. You have individuals manipulating the market by buying huge amounts of guns and magazines and ammo and then trying to flip it for a huge profit. They are artificially drying up the supply. It's called a bubble and I hope it busts and burns them like the housing market did.

And they are douche bags.

And there are a handful of LGS and suppliers that are actively saying they are not raising prices because price gouging is wrong. Big box stores are also your friend here.

And people are traveling longer distances to buy up ammo too.Like from Kentucky to SE way out in the boonies Ohio to get 5K of 5.56 ammo at $250/200.

Wow! A buck-.25 a round? Is that what others are seeing? I haven't shopped ammo at all since all this started because I've got more than I know what to do with, but I've never paid more than $0.50 per round for 5.56 of any kind, and even then, it was just to try out some of the more "exotic" loads out there. The overwhelming majority of my 5.56 purchases have been well under $0.30 per round, some of the older stuff I have laying around was under $0.20.

I'm not much of a believer in this "gouging" concept that everyone is accusing nearly everyone else of engaging in, but no matter what you call it, I would never pay $1.25 for a round of 5.56 (or any .223 rounds either for that matter). I don't know the seller's circumstances, so I can't say whether it's an unreasonable price in this environment, but I can say of buyers that they, at the very least, are poor planners who allowed themselves to be caught in a completely unreasonable and panicked market.

Hudson? If you work there, you might be the guy that hid a few mags behind the counter for me. ;-)

There's a guy around here who dropped over $15k and cleared out a store.m he even bought those little florescent .22s. He took them all home too. Had an FFL. I emailed the management of all the LGS and asked them to limit purchases so everyone can get a chance to buy a gun or ammo. Looks like only one store did.

I'm a douchebag then LOL! :p

I'm already positive and still have a few ARs for sale on gunbroker

<3 capitalism

I'll be at the KY state Capitol rally tomorrow at noon if you'd like an autographed picture ;)

If the stink fits......... I don't think I could handle the smell to get close enough for an autograph.

ammo is tight here in Pa;went to Cabelas in West Virginia last week they had a good supply of ammo not too bad on price-9mm 115fmj 13.99 a box(50),380 as low as 12.99,had alot of .223 for 9.99 a box not bad for todays prices but far cry from where they were. Also have local gun shop with AR 30 round clips- aluminum $30 new steel ones $40 also still had ARs although high 1500-1900. Had enough ammo for myself but got reloading supplies for my deer hunting calibers cause primers, bullets, and powder was disappearing and didnt know how long it will take to restock their shelves

Nope, not Hudson. FdL. And I don't work in the sporting goods dept, I work outside.(And not a guy) Glad to hear that he was able to help you out.
I might check out the Appleton Fleet to see what their sporting goods dept is like.
I had a coworker ask me why I wanted a .45cal. I told her cuz it makes bigger holes. ;)

My Walmart just started to carry rifles again last year after them being taken out several years ago. And business is great for them.
