I disagree, they have already proven that they want the government handing out things, and don't believe in taking personal responsibility. That's why they voted for him. Isn't owning a firearm a personal responsibility issue?

I really dislike comments like these.
Who are "they" and "they" do think, "they" just think differently than you on this particular issue. It is so divisive to talk about enormous groups of people as if they are less than you because they chose to vote differently.
There are many many people in this country who are responsible, who exercise their right to protect themselves by carrying, who are intelligent and kind and contribute a great deal to society who chose to vote for Obama.
You might be surprised how much you have in common with "those" people if you stepped down from your high horse.

The gun shop owner is exercising his 1A right. Some of us agree. It was also divisive for Obama to use his union contacts to keep companies from laying off workers until after the election. It was divisive for the campaign to say the Republicans want to start a War on Women. It was divisive to demonize the rich for being successful. It was divisive for Susan Rice to be on 5 Sunday talk shows telling the American People that the Terrorist Attack on Benghazi was a random demonstration. Fast and Furious was a divisive attempt for the federal government to attempt to take away our 2A rights. The US engaging in talks with the UN regarding small arms is divisive. The list is extensive on the other side of the divisive coin. The Obama campaign ran on the platform of dividing the country. The Romney campaign did not have their stuff together I will not debate that.
Sharing the opinion that the Obama voter has exercised a choice that would preclude them from owning a firearm is not looking down on them. I have friends and even family who voted for Obama, but the great thing about this country is we can disagree and often do. I often enjoy the intellectual stimulation. What I take issue with in most, and I say most Obama voters, is the Obama voters who have no clue why they voted for him. The voter who believed that when Obama said "Gas at $4.00 a gallon was a sign the economy was improving" says to me that they have no idea how to research his energy policy and see that he killed things like the Keystone Pipeline, put drilling bans on US oil, gave more drilling rights to Argentina etc. I take issue with the voters who actually believed that the republicans sought to destroy social security and medicare. I take issue with the people who voted for Obama because of Obamacare, not realizing that it will cost them health care, doctor, and according to the CBO approx 14 trillion more. I can usually look at the other side of the argument and understand it, but not in this case. You look at what has happened in Greece, Spain, and other European countries. Their freedoms are slowly shrinking. There are demonstrations because their precious entitlements have disappeared. I do not want to go that way and that is the track the administration has us on. When more than 51% of the population receives handouts and has the ability to vote themselves more then we are doomed. I have several friends who have immigrated to the US from communist countries. They see this over regulation and government intrusion as the steps toward the countries from which they came.
Mind you I live in a Blue State.
Obama's terrible policies and plan (or lack thereof) are what's divisive.
"Divisive" is the new buzzword that liberals use to rationalize away opinions of those who see this administration for what it is: a complete and utter failure. The 31% of you who voted for him got what you wanted; Obama is in the Whitehouse again and we're doomed to another four years of ineffective leadership. But you can't make us like it.

And Bush killed 3000 Americans because? He felt like it? Wag the dog because he was so wildly unpopular back in 2001? Why would Clinton bomb the Cole? He didn't do anything about it. It's not like he used it to justify anything...at all. Oh right...because al Qaeda isn't real, it's manufactured by the CIA yada yada yada.
