Gun store giving up?

I had breakfast with a couple of fellow shooters today, and one friend said he heard that "Kesselrings", a well known gun shop in North Skagit county is going to discontinue stocking and selling firearms. According to him, they said they were tired of all the BS govn't requirements. They will still keep all the other gun related stock, ammo, holsters and the like, just no guns. That's a shame. I hope this is not an omen of things to come. Thanks to the govm't buying such large quantities of ammo for Homeland Security Dept, we can hardly find anything on the store shelves anymore. I've cut down on shooting and reloading due to scarce stock of bullets, powder,..etc...

I hope you right as well. I often wonder if Armslist has hurt the mom & pop gun shops as well. Most folks don't like retail prices and for big brother to know what they are buying and trading. I am one of them. As for my area on Northern Kentucky I haven't seen any negative impact of regulations just a lot of shortages in ammo, price gouging on weaponry and ammo, and folks trying to budget their hoarding. Tuff times!

It's disgusting that a longtime family run firearms business can't/won't keep selling them.

And I too have slowed waaay down on my shooting activities. There are no reloading components to have.

Frustrating to say the least.

Sucks to be you guys I guess! I have ample quantities of ammo available for multiple calibers that I shoot.
Not much of a shortage in my neck of the woods.
I carry a .40 cal and its available everywhere, every time at the same low price it's always been.

Same here, the stock is filling out at my local gun stores. They have yet to run out of ammo at the range, and have been able to keep JHP on the shelves for about a month now in most calibers. The exception is .380 in JHP. Hopefully next the prices will start returning to normal.

"Here's an update on what is going on with the shop; we are NOT closing we just will no longer be selling firearms as of October. We will still be selling everything else though such as ammo, reloading supplies, etc. We had originally stated we wouldn't carry ammo either but that decision was recently changed."

From what I have seen and heard it sounds like it was surrender your licence or get in trouble. I have heard that one of the family members is going to sell at a range they are building in Burlington.
