Gun show Ammo?

I know it can range from show to show, but do you think gun shows typically have good ammo prices? I didn’t think so until recently as all the costs I’ve seen were basically the same as the big catalog prices. Although, I did find some Speer LE Gold Dot 9mm +P 124Gr HP for $25 for a box of 50. That seemed very cheep it almost makes me wonder if it’s counterfeit or something.

Which brings me to my next question. Are there any issues like counterfeit or factory rejects for some reason that make it’s way into the gun show market?

I have bought alot of ammo at hundreds of different gun shows over the last thirty plus years with no problems. I have never had any more isuues with gun show ammo then the big name stores.

I buy all my ammo online, I quit going to gun shows years ago when they turned into beannie baby, jerky sales flea markets.

I agree with SGB and, others I buy all my Ammo either at Cheaper than Dirty or, Sportsmans Guide. Never had any Issues with either Company.

Most of the time, gun show prices are high compared to online or at WalMart. The key is to know what other prices are in your area, so you don't get home and find out it was $2/box cheaper at your local store.

I have found that walmart's ammo prices are the lowest. Granted, there may be more variety at a show, but if you are buying fmj by the box, I still find walmart to be the best deal. Buying in bulk may be cheaper too, if bulk buying is your preference.

Yep! I buy mine at Walmart too...most of the time. Online, there is that inevitable shipping charges. Walmart, it depends on which location the road tax is either higher or lower than excluding the actual tax on the goodies you bought with your ammo. Still, cheaper buying at the store than online. PLUS I do not have any wait time to get it on my hands.

I have also found this to be true. Not a big selection, but beats online prices, at least the ones I find.

Most of the ammo I see at local gun shows is way too high in price. Most of it looks like it's been carried around alot. Boxes look worn. I really think these guys bought this stuff when ammo was scarce at a higher price & now they're stuck with it.
In S.E. Mi., I use Meijer, Walmart, Dunhams, Gander Mountain, Cabelas, etc. I check the sales paper & go from there. I never run low on ammo. That way I don't ever pay full price.
Going to a gun show is like going to Big Lot, I go there to look, 'cause you never know what you might find.

You should take alook at AMMOMAN.COM, if you want to buy ammo. The price you see is the total peice including shipping.
