gun options for concealed carry

I was looking for a some opinions. I have a shot (no pun intended) of getting a Kahr CM9 or a Sig p938. I'm looking for concealed carry and pocket carry at times as well. I was wondering what some of you might suggest as to what you think is better than the other.

Also check out the M&P Shield. But never shot the Sig, but unseen and untried that would be my choice !

If your shot is of those two, I'd choose Sig. But I like everything Sig. To me you get more features and quality with Sig than comparable models.

I've carried a Sig P245 for years, after I had the action jeweled to smooth it up even more than the std Sig action. However, in the Texas heat, it was a bit heavy.
I also debated over something a bit smaller and lighter. I chose the CM9 with a CT laser and I really liked it - BUT it was a 9mm & I am a 45 guy. I chose the CM9 because there really wasn't anything smaller in a 45 at the time.
THEN...the XDS came out in 45 and I was smitten. It's practically the same weight and size as the CM9, but in my preferred 45 caliber. I gave the CM9 to my daughter for a carry piece, and many times I wish I had kept it! It's that good.
The Sig is still my winter gun under a sweatshirt.

You can't go wrong with a Sig, but I kinda like the striker fired new offerings, too.

Love my P938. Great shooter. Small, compact and good trigger - unlike most guns it's size. Have roughly 500 rds through mine without a failure.

The two guns you mention have different types of actions. Before you can pick one, you will need to give some thought to the way you want your carry gun to operate.

Single action? Double action only? Double/single? Striker fire?

The type of action will play into whether or not you'll need to train to operate a safety when you draw or not.

I own both the Sig P938 and the Kahr CM9.

I like them both and they are nice small conceal carry guns.

I carry all my conceal carry guns with a round in the chamber. You may or may not choose to do so, that’s your option.

The Sig P938 is a single action firearm that I carry cocked and locked and when drawn the safety must be disengaged prior to firing. It has a short trigger pull that has gotten better as I have broken it in. We have over 500 rounds through it without any issues.
It came with two mags, a 6 and 7 round.

Also note that Sig currently has a promotion where you can get two 7 round mags and
A pistol bag by mail. Details on their website.

The Kahr CM9 is a DAO action firearm that has a long smooth pull and all I have to do is just draw and fire, no safety other than the good old trigger finger or if you choose not to carry with a round in the chamber. We currently have over 400 rounds through it without any issues. It came with one 6 round mag.

When shooting at the range the target for each will look very similar. I shoot one as well as the other.

II like both firearms but if I had to choose one it would probably be the Sig.

If you shop carefully you can get a CM9 for about half price of the P938.

Don’t discount other fine small compact pistols such as the S&W Shield 9 or Springfield Armory XDs 9 if you are looking for a single stack pistol; However they are not quite as small as the Sig P938 or Kahr CM9.

When I carry a small 9mm it’s usually my Sig but my best shooting conceal carry 9mm by far is my Ruger SR9C. When I carry a 45 it’s a Glock 30S. The later two I shoot very well.

Hope this helps some.

Just going off your parameter just a bit here. Kahr makes great guns. I am starting to think KISS for carry. Instead of the CM 9 I am thinking MK9
e
Elite w/nightsights. A bit heavier but easier recoil plus the Elite has some smoothing custom work but it is pricier. Check it out.

Something you shoot good with that has the largest caliber. It's gotta be right for you, that's the point that counts.
