Gun Facts

Anti-gun liberals are always wanting to take guns away from honest people. I would love to have some kind of idea on how many handguns are owned by people in the U.S.? 50 million? 20 million? 80 million? Now, if you knew what the true amount was and then looked at how many people (good or bad) were killed by handguns, I bet it would be a small amount when compared to the amount of legally owned guns. It's really simple, just see how many gun owners you know that have killed a person. So how about getting the criminals and leaving honest gun owners alone?

Because the criminals, by definition, don't/won't obey the laws. The only people the politicos can CONTROL is the law abiding populace.

With maybe 300 million guns in circulation, and firearm homicides at 30 thousand or so, that means 0.01%, at most, of guns are used to kill people. Can you think of any other body of laws that seek to limit such a small problem with such broad strokes?

Well, there is the EPA trying to squeeze the last 0.05% of pollution.

What we need to do is ban cars. the number of people harmed by guns pales in comparison to people harmed by cars. If you own a car it is more likely to cause your death or injury than if you own a gun. A car in the hands of a 16 year old without supervision?? Talk about a menace. 2,000 lbs of pure death. And with a drunk at the wheel? Worse and worse the more you look at it. Cars must go.

Every law abiding citizen has the right to own a firearm. Unfortunately, not every law abiding citizen is responsible enough to be allowed to own a firearm.

Sometimes they shoot themselves. Sometimes they shoot someone else.

Sometimes they shoot a 14-year old by accident, then become a firearms instructor, and then accidentally shoot a student in their class, like this guy:

Accidental shooting was not first for firearms instructor

Yep, he is law abiding, but he shouldn't be allowed within 100 yards of a firearm.

Or just ban NYC cabbies from owning, operating or being within 100 feet of a motor vehicle. WTF is wrong with those dudes? I'm from NYC and I don't bump pedestrians when the walk sign is still lit lol

This is a case where you should hate the player. Case in point: I don't hate football just because Tony Romo can't hold the ball for the kicker, I hate Tony Romo because Tony Romo cost us a Superbowl victory. Just kidding, I love Tony Romo. 90+ QB rating every year! Doug Free can go to hell.

I agree. But it is a case that illustrates the need to be more cautious about who gets to play quarterback.
