Gun Delivered to the Wrong Address, Really FedEx?

How would the driver know the contents, even if Glock did declare the package contained a gun to FEDEX?

Based on packages I've received with items missing even though they were on the shipping list, I believe drivers learn certain things from return addresses and labeling. E.g., ammunition and gun parts (scopes, e.g.) will often have a sticker on the box with " ARM ORD" on it. Packages from places where I buy gear and cutlery have twice been robbed of the cutlery - like a CRKT M-16 folder - with the original box put back inside. It was done once through a box that wasn't taped on the bottom, and the the other time through torn tape after the box had apparently been 'dropped'.

So even if the return label says "Aunty Em" on it they eventually know the address is a vendor of handguns, or custom gun work, or knives. And drivers and handlers do steal - if they don't want the item, they can sell it. That is why if you call any of the vendors and tell them your box arrived empty they will simply send a new order. Companies like UPS and FedEx pay for the replacement without even an investigation, which suggests to me it is too common for general safety. Even if they pay to replace your handgun, when the one you bought the first time shows up at a crime scene, you're getting a SWAT visit.

A few years ago, I had to send my Taurus in for warranty work. At the time I lived in a rough neighborhood...VERY rough neighborhood. One day I came home from work and found a package sitting on the sidewalk just in front of my front door (which faces a fairly busy street with lots of walking traffic). It was the gun....in a box with a big red sticker on it that said "CONTAINS FIREARM". USPS simply left the box on my doorstep.

I called USPS and asked to speak to the branch supervisor. I explained the situation to her and her question was "so...is it not yours? Did we deliver it to the wrong address?". No matter how many different ways I tried to explain to her that leaving a firearm in a box marked "CONTAINS FIREARM" on someone's doorstep, unattended isn't a good idea she just couldn't understand what the problem was.

A signature is required for a BB gun. No idea why one wasn't required. I think its both FedEx & Glock's fault, and Glock should refund your $80. FedEx for delivering to the wrong address and Glock not informing FedEx the package contained a firearm.

We've had deliveries made to the wrong address and signed for. Driver, does a U-Haul store look like a gunshop? Check the address next time.

I bought a shotgun, that was well scratched and abused at a gun show a few years back. I sent it back to Ithaca to polish out the scratches and pits and reblue the whole gun after I got it into working order. Was notified by Ithaca it would be signature delivery only by UPS and the day it was to arrive. That day, a FedEx truck stopped in front of my house about a half hour before my regular UPS driver would show up. I noticed him running back to the truck and got to my front door just as he started the vehicle. There on my front lawn, on a busy street and also well traveled sidewalk, was the package from Ithaca. Driver left with no signature as I couldn't run that fast to chase him down, he didn't even knock. I blame Ithaca mostly because they had me specifically ship the gun by UPS, but they did not reciprocate. If I hadn't been home that day, who knows if it would have been there when I got back from work. I try not to buy from businesses that use those low life impostors. They leech off the efforts UPS and a few others have put into to establish a good system of delivery. Even though Ithaca messed up FedEx could have been professional not to mention responsible. If I delivered the wrong files or boxes to one of our clients, I wouldn't be employed the next day. Good job FedEx impersonating a delivery carrier.
