Gun Dealer Won't Ship to NY State

I found a great deal on a single action revolvor for deer hunting at CDNN Sports. I had my FFL guy FAX the details and then I called to order it. CDNN Sports will not ship any handgun to NY State. Company policy. He says it has to do with the lawsuits filed in the past, the Mayor Bloomberg thing, etc. It's not worth the hassle. This seems to be a growing trend. Many wholesalers and dealers won't ship any firearms to California. I guess NY is not far behind.

I've purchased several guns on line and had them shipped to my FFL without any problems. Bloomberg's act has been setting up "straw" transactions by sending his "investigators" to FFL's outside of this state. It's too bad this dealer won't ship something to your dealer.

Yes the guy at CDNN didn't get too detailed. He just said it was company policy and not worth the hassle to ship any handguns into NYS. It's a shame because CDNN is a great outfit with some of the best prices and customer service available.

Another outfit that is scared shi*less of NYS is Sportsman's Guide. I tried to buy a bayonet for an antique rifle and they refused to ship it to me! I called them and asked what gives? I explained that I can buy the same bayonet at local gun shows and shops near me. They said " our lawyers have advised us" etc. IT's NOT WORTH THE HASSLE to ship this stuff to NY.

Sportsman's Guide restricts all kinds of things to NY. Especially KNIVES. They have little number codes at the bottom of the product listing in the catalog that says what restrictions apply. They won't even ship CUTLERY to the following :

WARNING: Cutlery cannot be shipped to Marin, Napa, Ventura and Yolo counties, CA; CO; CT; TN; D.C.; MA or Puerto Rico. Please check your State, County and City laws for restrictions before ordering Cutlery.

Buds Gun Shop Guns for Sale will not ship to the following NY counties.

We do NOT ship to the counties in red. In fact, your billing address must not be in any of these counties:

Bronx
Kings
Nassau
New York
Queens
Richmond

I was at a Gun Show in Virginia. Ready to by a Ruger 10-22. As soon as the guy found out I was from NY. He said sorry, thanks to your Mayor I don't want your business.
He was talking about Bloomberg. I explained that Buffalo is 400 miles away from Bloomberg but he didn't care.

That's another problem - the geography challenged who think all of NYS is within the boundaries of New York City.

Greetings;

I have had the same reaction from some vendors on Gun Broker.
As soon as I explain to them that there is an upstate New York and then there is New York city, they sell me the item, gun, etc.

We may know the difference but, you would be surprised on how many other people just do not.

They know the difference between NYC and NY State. They also know that Andrew Cuomo is NYS Attorney General and has sued gun makers and others in the past while HUD secretary. It's just not worth it to sell to NY State and risk having to defend yourself against a lawsuit from people with unlimited resources.

Similar problems experienced in the past...I solved it by leaving NY after 45 years.
What a difference living in a Free State! I'll never go back.

My dad used to skip school to watch the Yankees play ball. His first duty station was Plattsburgh, his last was Syracuse (Hancock Field). He always told me New York was a good place to be from. Far from. He demonstrated by moving to Oklahoma as soon as he retired from the Air Force.

With Cuomo as AG and Bloomberg as Mayor of the largest & most prominent city, NYS has a very bad reputation to overcome with gun manufacturers and online dealers.
