Of course it does, but how it works is the fence line.

When the followers lead, the leaders will follow.

There are tens of millions of gun owners in the US. There aren’t even 5 million NRA members – less than one tenth the number. Whether you agree with everything the NRA does or not, there is no other second amendment organization that has the power and clout that the NRA does. Strength is in numbers. It is time to put away our differences and focus on what we all share in common - now, more than ever.

Forget an order of magnitude greater, imagine what could happen with just a doubling of that membership. And that wouldn't be very hard to do, if people were to just do it.

I couldn't agree with you more. I an an NRA Endowment member and proud of it. As I have said before if all gun owners (competetion shooters, hunters, CW carriers, etc.) would stand united there would be NOTHING the antis could do. If the NRA could double its membership we would be in the drivers' seat.

Well done Sir. You’re one step ahead of me as a Life Member. I send support during times of need, while also supporting other national organizations, as well as regional ones in my home State.

Not everyone can afford to be a Life, Endowment, Patron or Benefactor, but most could the discounted $25 annual.

Got no money? You can send emails to your Representatives. Send email and letters to companies that sponsor antigun programming. Let them know do to their support of that programming, you can’t support their company and products. Then follow-up on that commitment. Imagine what we could do if we just DID IT.

40 months or 40 quarters/120 months? I think that most people could afford the EPL NRA membership at $25 every 3 months for 10 years.

I don't believe membership dues are used for NRA-ILA purposes. They rely on gifts and contributions to fight the anti's agendas in D.C.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

I don't have the breakdown of the distribution of dues, but next week I can find out. The NRA-ILA is the lobbying arm of the NRA. When I donate, I donate to the NRA-ILA. The NRA existed slightly over a hundred years before the NRA-ILA. I believe we should begin our support first with the NRA. Let us show our strength in numbers and solidarity.

The New Year I will begin my Life Membership payments. I have been lobbying my Senator and Congressman and been recruiting NRA membership enrollment here in Southern Arkansas. I believe if we all do a little the effect will be huge!

Rather than be the negative contrarian, why not propose something positive? Do you have something to contribute to the solution or are you just a complainer?

Just like mine. The same as everyone could get. Let's do something for our Second Amendment before it's just a memory. (this is for those who haven't signed up)

If people don't like the NRA, there are other organizations out there. Second Amendment Foundation for one.

Please someone correct me if I am wrong. But shouldn't the NRA spend thier money on recruiting new members then keep asking yearly members to renew their membership before it is due. Get a list of all gun owners and send them the material to join.

I have received a few email alerts from just about all of the 2nd Amendment folks. I forward to likeminded folks via email and urge them to send just one dollar. If we all do this maybe it will help. It is about all I can do. $1.00 from just a fiver or ten spot.

Where is this list of gun owners? Any thought of such a list should be vehemently apposed, now and forever.

Again, I would suggest that in light of the recent events, our executive office and the goal of certain political leaders, this is not the time to quibble about insignificant matters, but instead focus on our common ground and show that solidarity. Any distraction from that weakens us individually and collectively.

If you haven’t joined the NRA, please consider joining. If you are a member, consider becoming a Life Member. And anyone who can, consider giving to the NRA-ILA. If your funds are tight, there are still many great things you can do that only cost time…

When we conduct ourselves in public as a gun owner, we represent all gun owners. To that end, always be a good ambassador. Help educate with patience and politeness those with fear and ignorance because they believe what they see on TV and the news. I can’t convert someone’s beliefs overnight, if ever, but many times I can give them pause, even if just for a moment - that has a cumulative effect. Here is a great resource to dispel many of the myths, and it includes all the sources of data - Gun Facts Use it! And of course, write your representatives. And keep writing them!
