Gun Appreciation Day event in Carson City NV

I was told there would be a Gun Appreciation Day demonstration in Carson City at the Capitol at noon Saturday, Jan. 19, but someone in the Legislature told me it was moved to Las Vegas. Can someone tell me if there will be a demonstration in Carson City tomorrow? I'd like to be there.

Not sure about CC- check with the CC Appeal or LEOs would know. Las Vegas has been doing Gun Appreciation Day with a massive demonstration at The Sands(?) and other venues with the SHOT Show.

Notice how the media here has been demonizing it like other recent gun shows?

As our legislature here in NV does not meet until Feb, marching on the capitol is not going to have the effect you would think. Then when you think that most of the state legislature resides in Vegas, it does make sense to move the venue.

I hope they still have it in Carson City too. It has been advertised on local radio. I plan on going. I'm from Virginia Citywhere we have the Second Amendment Celebration Concert every Fourth of July and display our guns proudly all year.

I guess I'm a bitter gun owner, but why hold it in Las Vegas when the majority of the folks down there voted for Obama and helped bring us to the situation we are now in?

The idea of nation-wide rallies at state capitols was a show of common traditional rally points. Should all 50 states have simultaneous marches, it becomes news worthy. You might read the State Constitution as far as where our State Legislators have to live- you must physically reside in the district you represent. Vegas has launched several efforts to move the capitol there due to it being the population center of NV, all efforts by them were promptly rebuffed.

Turn that bitterness into activism- bitterness drains too much energy, and you'll find satisfaction in activism. LV had the SHOT Show running at the time, so it made sense. Take comfort in the fact that NV has the Right to Own Firearms in the Nev. State Constitution still intact, as well as Firearm Ownership being secured within the Divorce section of the NRS. This provision has survived challenges, even DV allegations & seizure during the proceedings once the DV issue was cleared up.

Re: activism, ask the Storey and Lyon County Sheriffs Offices about what they plan on doing should arms seizure or other grabs/bans be enacted by his majesty. Will they blindly go on to do it, wait for Catherine's (State AG Office) to give a ruling, or blow it all off until a degree of rationality takes over again?
