Gum Creek Car Holster

I've owned a Gum Creek Car Holster for six months or so. I really like it because of the fact that it holds my SIG P938 in a position where I can get to it with almost no effort. In that regard, it is almost perfect.

My main gripe with it is the retention strap. It utilizes a snap instead of Velcro and the snap is far too tight. Furthermore, the way the straps halves are cut, it requires that the fastening snap be unfastened with a downward motion rather than upward. I just don't like it at all. I have an Uncle Mike IWB holster. It uses Velcro retention straps and it unfastens with an EASY upward pull. I'd love to get the Uncle Mike's straps and use them on the Gum Creek holster. However, Mike SEWS his straps to the holster and Gum Creek attaches theirs to the holster with Velcro. I guess I could just buy some Velcro strips and cut them. But I'd much rather have pre-finished pieces. I'd need two 6-7" strips with hook on one side and loop on the other.

Has anybody else used the Gum Creek device? Any suggestions?
