Cops don't believe her:

Matilyn “Mattie” Brown denied shooting toward her neighbor’s house, even though she was target shooting outside at about 4 p.m. Friday when four bullets hit the siding and a fifth broke a second-story window.

He was too old to keep in jail:

Donald Shawley, 87, is charged with Class D felony intimidation for allegedly showing his gun to a Pine Township neighbor, in the 1400 block of North County Road 425E.
He was arrested but released, since Porter County Jail medical staff said Shawley’s age and number of prescriptions would be a liability.

In the first case, the rounds that hit the house, a check as to if her gun had recently been fired, and a powder residue test on her hands would tell if it might have come from her.

In the second case, how did the yard guy know he had a gun in the first place?
